Nusa Tenggara. As a result of this coordinated partnership, ChildFund Indonesia
directly and indirectly supports 380,000 children a year. In addition to
the implementation of core programs, ChildFund Indonesia has also responded to
emergencies in Aceh (tsunami), West Sumatera (earthquake), Central Java and Yogyakarta
(volcanic eruption).

This
position is responsible for executing the organization's accounting process and
generating financial statements and reports,
generating reliable and timely analysis and decision-making, in accordance with
General Accounting Principles, local laws and procedures of ChildFund. Ensure
that payments and transfers are done on time, meeting the standards.
- Follow the guidelines and standards of the Accounting Procedures Manual
- Update the accounting system and accounts of the Organization in accordance with the requirements of the organization.
- Comply with local tax laws and other local legal requirements.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Monitor the tax position of the Organization, as well as verification of timely payments of taxes, legal and other contributions local Social Security Organization.
- Comply and ensure compliance with internal control policies ChildFund related to financial and administrative aspects.
- Develop and update an accounting system to keep track of financial transactions, establishing and maintaining accounts, defining process for daily journal accounting entries.
- Review supporting documentation prior to payment ensuring compliance to the policies of the Organization and local laws. (To include Grants and all accounts payables of the Organization).
- Review the accounting records before drafting the check/transferring funds. (To include Grants and accounts payable of the Organization.
- Develop accruals, depreciation and reconciliation as well as analysis of daily ledgers and balance sheets and preliminary assessment, adjustments, including AP closure correction or supplemental information.
- Prepare the financial report, P & L Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and other required reports.
- Review the staff and grants payroll accounting records determines provision allocations monthly.
- Ensure the monthly and yearly financial report closing are being conducted on time and send those report to Regional Office and International Office on the monthly/ yearly basis.
- Issue the preliminary financial statements; generate the CPR and its annexes monthly.
- Correct and supplement the information and issue the final financial statements and the closing of GL appropriately and timely.
- Monitor and assist in the work of internal and external audit.
- Maintain a system of classification of financial transactions.
- Provide support and counseling as needed and participate in discussions that seek to solve problems in other areas, evaluating methods and alternatives, and suggesting the best options. Also, point out with honesty, courage and impartiality, deficiencies and weaknesses observed in the organization, sincerely accepting the views of others to evaluate, accept or improve them.
- Monitor and maintain filing system.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- 4 years’ experience
- Proficient in Strategic Accounting Planning
- 3 years of experience working with NGOs is preferable.
- Experience in the areas of management, development, control and supervision.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish positive working relationships with superiors and subordinates on the basis of trust, friendliness and respect with a high degree of analytical ability.
- Mastery of the techniques and methods of accounting and finance in general and international accounting standards in accordance to generally accepted principles and laws that govern the activity of NGOs.
- Capacity planning, organizing and self-direction, ability to work independently and under pressure for effective decision making, using common sense and professionalism.
- Ability to assign, direct and supervise office accounting work.
- Proficiency in accounting system Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in a local language (i.e., Indonesia) required.
- Knowledgeable of accounting and financial terminology.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidential financial information.
EDUCATION/certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher preferred and/or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- Completion of courses or training in local country accounting techniques.
