AIP PRISMA Job Vacancy: Environmental Specialist - Surabaya

ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST

AIP PRISMA, Surabaya

The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Promoting Rural Income through Support for Markets in Agriculture (AIP-PRISMA) is an ambitious new rural development program which aims to contribute to a 30%, or more, increase in net incomes for 1,000,000 poor rural female and male farmers, 300,000 of which will be reached by June 2017. AIP-PRISMA will focus on Eastern Indonesia (EJ, NTB, NTT, Papua and W Papua). Once it is fully operationalized, AIP-PRISMA will be the largest making markets work for the poor (M4P) project in the world.

OBJECTIVE & SCOPE OF SERVICES OF THE CONSULTANCY

The objective of this consultancy is to assess the potential environmental impacts of AIP-PRISMAs interventions. The consultant will be required to undertake the following tasks:

Familiarize with the Summary Environmental Management in AusAID
Review location profiles, sector reports, and intervention plans
Develop a report that outlines the potential environmental effects (positive, negative, or neutral) of the interventions that the programme should be aware of.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years or more of experience of carrying out environmental assessment preferably of
    agricultural sectors.
  • Demonstrable     knowledge and experience of having worked with environmental conditions of     rural eastern
    Indonesia. Preferably in the specific provinces where AIP-PRISMA plans to be active.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
Interested experts should apply for this task with a proposal that:
  • Outlines prior environmental work in eastern Indonesia and/or in agriculture sub-sectors 
  • Sample of their work on describing and/or assessing the environmental effects of activities of donor funded agencies.
