Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) is one of Germany’s
longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB entered
Indonesia following the May 2006 earthquake and has established projects in
emergency relief; reconstruction and training; information and outreach;
disaster preparedness and livelihoods sectors. ASB is a key player in disaster
risk reduction education and a regional leader in providing innovative DRR
services and solutions to people with disabilities.
ASB is currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and
committed individuals for the following position:
Project Officer
Location:
Yogyakarta, Indonesia (with travel to Jakarta, Central Java, West Java and West
Sumatra)
Duration: 10 months contract (including 3 month probation period)

Summary of job profile:
This
position is primarily to assist in delivering capacity building/training support
in coordination with project stakeholders and to supervise field survey
activities. The Project Officer reports
to the Team Leader and is expected to coordinate closely with other project
members. The position includes both field and office work.
Desirable qualifications:
1. Minimum
4 years development related project experience.
2. Proven
training/facilitation skills.
3. Experience
in organising participatory consultations with communities.
4. Research
experience preferred.
5. Experience
in coordination with government at community and district/province level.
6. Ability and willingness to travel to project locations.
7. Knowledge
on DRR an advantage.
8. A
sound awareness of disability and understanding of the principles of inclusion
required.
9. Excellent
reporting skills.
10. Excellent
communication and organisational skills.11. Bahasa Indonesia and English language skills.
12. Efficiency, flexibility, creative thinking, and punctuality valued.
