SCI Seeks a Consultant for Movie Maker - BISA Project, Aceh Program

Scope of Services

1.   DESCRIPTION / BACKGROUND OF PROGRAM
Save the Children has implemented the Basic Initiative School Access Bener Meriah district in one sub district Permata. BISA project takes a comprehensive approach to improving access to quality ECCE services among disadvantaged children in the Bener Meriah, Aceh district.  We do this by implementing activities together with ECCE centers, communities, and the local government to establish and equip 7 new ECCE centers and then build capacity for an additional 8 through teacher/tutor training and community mobilization.  We also advocate for improved education systems at the district level and increased resource allocation for ECCE centers from the district government.

The Goal of the project is that children in Bener Meriah are ready for success in primary school.  We will accomplish this goal by achieving the following Objectives:

1.     Improved Access to ECCE

2.     Improved Quality of ECCE

3.     Community Mobilization to support ECCE

4.     Increased District Government Support for ECCE

One of the key intervention of this project  in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services is to  develope  a short domentary film (movie) that figure out the BISA project activities & this film documenter will be an information & communication media from SCI & then it will be issued  as part of handover packages & documentations to local government & other stakeholders during the BISA project desemination which expected to conducted in July 2014.

2. Objectives of the Consultancy

The Consultant – Movie Maker hold a crucial role in producing a film documenter/ movie that figure out all BISA Project interventions in Bener Meriah District in general & Permata Sub. District in particular.

3. The Consultant has agreed to:

Conduct a movie/ documentary film data collections which consist of:  activities photos, interview record with local government and other stake holdres & other related datas to support  movie/ documentary film productions  Collaborate with BISA project team in producing the sequences & draft content of documentary film  Produce high quality final version of  master documentary film/movie that represent the BISA project activities & interventions

4. Deliverables: Masterp​eice of Documentary/ movie

5.  Time frame:

Starting : 16 -30 June 2014 (2 weeks)

Timesheet is required

6. Reporting line: To Deputy Program Manager

7. Qualification & Experiences

• University graduated from communication, editor or other related field 
• Previous experiences in producing the documentary film/ movie paricularly in ECCE & Aceh context will be an adventage 
• Ability to work as a team 
• Good communication and reporting skill
• Basic knowledge in Ms.Word, Excell, Power point & documentary film/ movie production
• Basic oral and written communication skills in English is plus 
• Exposure and direct experience in NGO work is a plus
