SCI Seeks a Consultant for Baseline Study for Healthy for School in Aceh

SCI seeks a consultant for baseline study for healthy for school in Aceh with the Term of Reference below:

Save the Children has implemented programs in Aceh since 1976 and in the neighboring district of Bener Meriah (East of Aceh Tengah) since 2009.  These programs improve child education, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, and food security.  We have just completed the implementation of the Save the Children Korea and Hyundai-supported Better Water for Children project in Bener Meriah. This project worked closely with communities and the district government to improve access to water by building a water distribution system that benefitted five communities and five schools with problematic access to regular water for household use. We are also implementing the Livelihoods and Nutrition for Kids (LINK) project in 79 communities in Bener Meriah and two other programs focusing on early childhood education and health. The Healthy for School in Aceh project in Aceh Tengah builds off of our experience and knowledge from our current work in Bener Meriah; our more than 15 years experience throughout Indonesia in school health, hygiene, and nutrition (SHHN) programming, and more than 30 years of experience in Aceh.

Main Objective:
We will monitor and evaluate this project as we do in all Save the Children projects.  We will conduct a baseline study in targeted communities and schools, and then repeat that study for the final evaluation.  This will allow us to identify some of the impact of the project by tracking a limited number of results indicators.  Some of the indicators of success of this project will be:

Ø  Access to hand washing facilities with soap in schools
Ø  Teacher knowledge of good hygiene and health practices
Ø  Student hand washing behavior
Ø  Policies supported by the local government to support SHHN in Aceh Tengah
