Job Opportunity: MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (AIPEG, Jakarta)

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Jakarta

The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Governance (AIPEG) is an Australian Government-funded project assisting Indonesia to undertake economic and financial policy reforms. Norton Rose Fulbright Australia, the Managing Contractor, seeks applications from qualified Indonesian professionals for a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer position, located in the AIPEG office, Jakarta.

1. Selection Criteria
• An Internationally accredited qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation and/or BA/BSc in Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies or International Development.
• Understanding of M&E approaches and methodologies as well as good analytical capabilities applied to development issues.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative survey methodologies. Ability to triangulate data in M&E context.
• Understanding of data requirement in an M&E context and ability to develop an inquiring attitude in an M&E context. Knowledge and appreciation of gender issues in the M&E context and Indonesia.
• Excellent written communication skills with fluency in English (both written and oral).
• Liaison skill, a proactive attitude in engaging with project stakeholders and staff.
• Computing proficiency with competency in the use of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access etc.).
• Proven ability to write a concise report in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

2. Experience:
• At least five (5) years proven working experience in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation of national and internationally funded long-term projects in Indonesia or elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
• Proven experience in Monitoring and Evaluation long-term development projects.
• Experience in coordinating monitoring activities and processes with stakeholders
• Experience in undertaking M&E presentations and conducting training in the context of a development project.

3. Desirable Qualifications:
• Knowledge of DFAT Monitoring and Evaluation Standards.
• Knowledge of systemic analysis.
• Masters Degree

4. The Short-listing Questions
a. Briefly outline your experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and explain why you believe your experience makes you a suitable candidate for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (MEO)
b. Explain why a project needs to monitor its activities.
c. Explain what the relationship between monitoring and evaluation is.
d. Briefly describe an evaluation you have participated or undertaken, indicate what evaluation criteria you have used in it and why.
