1. Early Warning System
(EWS) Supervisor - READI
The
Early Warning System Supervisor (EWS) is a key position in Mercy Corps Padang Office and will lead the coordination and partnership
effort of MC Padang program
with all activities READI Program in West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Meulaboh, Nias, and Mentawai, and ensure consistently high quality activity to
the community. The individual holding the position described in this Position
Description will be responsible for developing, coordinating, maintaining and
constantly meeting with program
stakeholders, as
well as provide assistance and training to the community in the area.
This position will be as temporary staff for 3 months.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in technical of EWS and DRR program;
- Good English in both verbal and written is desirable;
- Excellent computers skills absolutely required (MS Office, Word, Excell, Power Point, and Outlook);
- Excellent skills in interpersonal, presentation and representation.
- Prior experience in an international NGO is advantageous.
JAKARTA
1. DRR Specialist – DRIVE C
The DRR Specialist will be responsible for
providing the main technical guidance for the program, designing the support
program and technical aspects of the annual work plan programs and, where
appropriate, offering technical assistance to strategic partners. Close
engagement, partnership and capacity building with local NGO, government,
private sector and community partners are critical. The DRR Specialist will
provide mentoring to the Disaster Preparedness Teams (DPTs), advocacy strategy
to the local government and will be responsible for staff development related
the disaster risk reduction knowledge.
The DRR Specialist working in cooperation with
DRIVE – C Program Manager and Project Coordinator will coordinate closely with
the leadership of all Mercy Corps Indonesia disaster risk reduction
programs/climate change adaptation to ensure inter-program learning and overall
country program quality.
Qualifications:
- A relevant university degree, in the field of DRR and CCA
- A minimum of 8 years of experience assisting similar programs with demonstrated technical expertise in subject matter required, including previous experience in Indonesia and knowledge of the Indonesian context and key actors including government;
- Previous experience in planning, monitoring, evaluating and documenting DRR activities;
- Previous experience in efforts to improve in DRR/CCA strategy;
- Understanding of CSR and private sector engagement strategies in DRR and resilience work is a plus;
- Excellent speaking, reading and writing ability in Indonesian is mandatory. The ability to speak and write in English is highly desirable.
BOJONEGORO
1. Youth Development
Project Officer - TANGGUH
The Youth Development Project
Officer will be primarily responsible for overseeing the youth development
component of the program which focusses on youth leadership and civic
engagement capacity building of youth. This involves the establishment or
strengthening of existing community youth groups; supporting them as they
implement community project; training in life skills and leadership skills and
coaching. The officer will ensure all activities are prepared and conducted up
to quality standards and based on field assessments and careful participant
selection. He/she will ensure continuous monitoring of progress and evaluation
of impact of program activities under his/her responsibility. Finally, he/she
will collaborate productively with TANGGUH team members, program partners and
beneficiaries and contribute to an optimal program dynamic and working
environment.
Qualifications:

University
degree, preferable in a related field;
·
2+
years working on development projects with strong emphasis in youth development;
·
Experience
and expertise in training, both in design and delivery, including participatory
techniques;
·
Experience
with psychosocial support and life skills capacity building;
·
Strong
organizational skills and computer literate;
·
Extensive
knowledge of local context (resident of Bojonegoro or East
Java highly preferable).
2. Community Mobilization Trainer
- TANGGUH
The Community Mobilization Trainer
will be primarily responsible for community mobilization activities that are
closely linked with the economic development and youth development components
of the program, as well as for various training activities. With regards to
training, the officer will be directly responsible for organizing all the
financial literacy training for 1,500 target community members, in
collaboration with Mercy Corps’ MILES program, and deliver part of these
trainings him/herself. Additionally the officer will assist the Economic
Development Project Officer and the Youth Development Project Officer with the
facilitation of trainings that they are responsible for. The officer will ensure all activities are
prepared and conducted up to quality standards. He/she will participate in
field assessments and contribute to the process of fair and balanced
participant selection. He/she will pay particular attention to ensuring gender
balance and inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized sections of the
population. He/she will work with the other team members to ensure
accountability to our beneficiaries, making sure that target community members
feel at all times active participants during all phases of the program, from
assessment through planning and implementation up to monitoring and
evaluation. He/she will ensure
continuous monitoring of progress and evaluation of impact of program activities
under his/her responsibility. Finally, he/she will collaborate productively
with TANGGUH team members, program partners and beneficiaries and contribute to
an optimal program dynamic and working environment.
