Position
Summary
Responsibilities
This position’s role is to
organize and strengthen women groups to be able to
tap on economic opportunities in coastal community. The role will be carried
out by conducting community meetings, women groups meeting, trainings and drafting
women groups’ economic enterprises plan. The main objective of
the role is to increase
women’s understanding
on economic structure and
process; undergo self-funded groups and established partnership with local
business entities.
The overall goal of the Project is to empower
women in coastal areas to further improve family income utilizing access to
credit and basic finance/business education. The role involves a high degree of good
communication skills to encourage community participation in mapping their
situation, participatory research and action. This position is also responsible to
provide regular report to ADRA Indonesia’
Project Manager and to suggest creative and innovative
approaches to enable the program effectively mobilize
community’s resources and to ensure its sustainability.
Qualifications Required
- Appreciative, be self-motivated to use innovation and creativity.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills in order to maintain an acceptable working relationship with formal and informal villages’ leader
- Ability to establish and maintain working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for cultural diversity .
- Bachelor degree (S1) in economic or proven experiences in women community organizer for at least 3 years.
- Familiar with participatory research and action is an advantage to effectively carry out the required duties
- Ability to work under pressure at times while maintaining high quality results and team player in community organizing process.
Job Descriptions
The
Community Organizer will undertake the project implementation at village level. S/He will encourage
women
leaders to conduct economic analysis and facilitate groups to draft a collective enterprise/small
business related to milk fish and fishery for their income generating. To
monitor village team and to ensure good coordination
and communication with strategic stakeholder in find ways to
increase women economic opportunities.
The
CO is required to undertake the following
tasks:
- Design monthly planning based on the detailed implementation plan (DIP)
- Assisting women groups to undergo economic analysis at village level
- Assisting women groups to established self-funded groups and strengthening the groups for women cooperative
- Proposing ways of improvement of Project methodology, strategy and technical matter that adjusted to local context and resources.
- Preparing the monthly activity reports and other reports as required to Project Manager.
