ABA ROLI Vacancy: Operations Officer, Jakarta - Indonesia

ABA ROLI is a non-profit pro­gram that implements legal reform programs in roughly 60 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has nearly 700 professional staff work­ing abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organi­zations, including human rights groups.

Job Summary:
The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) requires an experienced Operations Officer to oversee operations at its Jakarta office.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the ABA ROLI Jakarta office is compliant with Indonesian law and internal and donor policies
  • Develop field office budgets and provide oversight of office expenditures
  • Provide support to sub-grantees in the preparation of budgets, financial reports and cash requests
  • Assist Jakarta office staff to track and meet reporting and operational deadlines
  • Oversee large-scale procurement
  • Train Jakarta office staff on ABA ROLI and donor policies
  • Oversee payroll
Selection Criteria:
Candidates must have the following qualifications, skills and work experience in order to be shortlisted for interview:
  • Undergraduate degree in Economy (Management or Accountancy Major) / Sarjana (S1) Ekonomi (jurusan Manajemen atau Akuntansi)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the field of finance and tax
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working on USAID -funded projects in the area of Operations or Finance
  • Experience developing and managing large, complex project budgets
  • Understanding of accountancy concepts, financial reports and tax requirements (cash flow, general ledger balance and loss sheets, income and social taxes)
  • Advanced written and spoken English and Indonesian language skills
  • In-depth knowledge of USAID finance and procurement policies
  • Ability to deal with bureaucratic institutions and procedures
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to work within a small, established team
