Qatar Charity is a Qatar-based NGO.
Since the inception of its services in Indonesia in 2006, the Organization has
been committed to assist the needy and less supported people all over
Indonesia. The Organization is active in providing assistance in the following
domains; Education & Cultural Support, Family, Women & Child care, Livelihoods & Income Generation, Water
& Sanitation, Relief & Emergency Response and last but not least
Seasonal Programs. After the tragedy tsunami disaster in 2004, Qatar Charity
has made a considerable contribution to the efforts of reconstruction and
rehabilitation in the affected areas.
We are currently seeking folowing positions:
1. IT , Media & Project Database
Management
- Position: IT , Media & Project Database Management
- Contract length: 01 year (Including 3 months probation period)
- Duty Station: Jakarta
- Report to: Country Director
Areas of responsibility
a).
IT & Media
- Responsible in maintaining, controlling, and repairing IT systems at all levels, network infrastructure and architecture, as well as data and network security
- Produce all HTML on the site
- Produce advocacy and responsible in various creative works such as designing website, leaflet and poster.
- Responsible in designing and providing office tools such as name card, ID card, presentation template, etc.
- Responsible in taking records of office’s events in photos or videos
- Manage the website and design (if needed) by regularly updating information and vet all information posted publicly, both in design and content.
- Monitor the organizations publicity profile while keeping records of the same
- Collect and organize data and information
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use of software and to protect vulnerable information.
- Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers to make changes.
- Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
- Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
- Train staff on new database software and systems.
- Responsible for installing and configuring database management software, translating database design and diagnosing database performance issues.
- Install software upgrades, manage hardware upgrades and maintain computer servers.
- Develop backup and recovery strategies, and monitor servers to ensure capacity is not exceeded.
- Help devise network strategies, test systems and develop system standards.
- Evaluate new tools and technologies, analyze user needs and presenting findings to management
- Track and record IT assets
b). Project Database
- Maintain, administer, and support project databases.
- Coordinate and cooperate with project team to gather data needed for project database
- Input all data collected to project database and ensure all of them are valid
- Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications and experience
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years experience of working in media/communications or IT sector
- University degree in subject related to IT or media
- Having good communication skill
- Having good writing skill
- Having good research skill
- Verbal and written skills both English and Bahasa Indonesia is a must. Arabic literate will be an advantage.
- Good in website management and other IT skill (MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Computer Networking, etc)
- Having a wide media networking will be an advantage
- Having a good skill in preparing and creating presentation, report and other pulishing material both in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Having a good understanding of the printing process
Key Competencies
required
- Skillful in managing and maintaining software, hardware, network & database
- Skillful in graphic program/Corel Draw/Freehand/Photoshop, Adobe Indesign/Flash, etc will be and advantage
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision & meet deadlines
- Fluent English and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and presentation (oral and written) skills including use of essential computer software packages.
- The ability to meet deadlines, achieve results and work with minimal day to day supervision.
2. Civil Engineer
- Position: Civil Engineer
- Report to: Program Manager
- Contract length: 01 year (Including 3 months probation period)
- Duty Station: Jakarta
Areas of responsibility
- Undertaking technical and feasibility studies and site investigations;
- Developing detailed designs and analysis;
- Ensuring that project planning and reporting systems are in compliance with requirements of Qatar Charity
- Oversee and guide the work of the implementing partners
- Assist the Program Manager in examining project and partner strategies on technical issues to ensure that they are focused on the objectives and are feasible and effective. This will require in-depth knowledge of integrated planning, design and implementation of construction project, monitoring systems and community mobilization
- Examine work plans and progress reports of contractors and provide feedback to the Program Manager on technical issues
- Maintain updated background information on policy and practice relevant to Qatar Charity construction projects; the Project construction coordinator will maintain a database of institutions and individuals who have knowledge, skills and experience in QCI-related projects
- Generate lessons from the project for project partners and the wider community interested in the issue
- Guide the project team to ensure compliance with Qatar Charity financial guidelines and procedures
- Make field visit for under construction projects and elaborate progress report
- Assess the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertaking risk management in specialist roles;
- Managing, supervising and visiting contractors on site and advising on civil engineering issues;
- Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues and architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients;
- Managing budgets and other project resources;
- Managing change, as the office may change the design, and identifying, formalizing and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project;
- Leading teams of other engineers, perhaps from other organizations or firms;
- Compiling, checking and approving reports;
- Using a range of design computer packages for designing projects and undertaking complex and repetitive calculations;
- Scheduling material and equipment purchases and delivery;
- Attending public meetings to discuss projects, especially in a senior role;
- Adopting all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments;
- Ensuring that a project runs smoothly and that the structure is completed on time and within budget;
- Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems;
- Correcting any project deficiencies that affect production, quality and safety requirements prior to final evaluation and project reviews.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor ‘s degree in civil engineering from an accredited school
- Minimum two years experience of working in related field
- Good command of English is a must, and a proficiency in Arabic will be an advantage
- Able to use relevant computer technology
