Lutheran World Relief (LWR), a
U.S.-based non-profit development organization engaged in seeking lasting
solutions to poverty, is seeking an experienced leader in finance and
administration for its Regional Team.
Asia Regional Finance
and administration Manager (RFAM)
LWR’s
goal is to practice and promote effective financial management systems in line
with industry best practices. The primary purpose of the RFAM is to develop a
strong capacity that enables LWR country offices and local partners to
continually manage effective and accountable financial systems. The RFAM
provides support to LWR offices in Asia (India, Nepal, Philippines, and
Indonesia) and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial
management including accounting, internal controls, donor compliance, budget
development and analysis. In addition, the RFAM will provide support to Human
Resource and Administrative staff, ensuring compliance to internal policies and
local laws.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Accounting, Business Administration or the equivalent. Post-graduate course work and a CPA is highly desirable.
- A minimum of seven (7) years demonstrated experience in public accounting, auditing, and office administration in the INGO sector.
- Experience working in South and South East Asia including at least 2 of LWR focus countries.
- Experience working with multiple restricted funding sources including extensive knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, cooperative agreements and contracts.
- Experience in training, facilitation, and/or support directly with communities and grassroots organizations in Asia.
- Highly developed analytical and communication skills, and ability to assimilate and process information for wide-ranging audiences; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team oriented environment.
- A self-starter; can identify challenges and take initiative. Ability to prioritize, organize and carry out multiple tasks efficiently under pressure and with little supervision
- Ability to resolve problems creatively and logically; synthesize; readily grasp issues and the means to address them; and translate ideas into action with a strong results orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communications in English essential. Knowledge of at least two additional regional languages highly desirable.
- Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and internet browsers; experience in the effective use and management of accounting and database software.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 60% of the time).
The Regional Finance and
Administration Manager reports to the Regional Director for Asia and the Middle
East.
