Under the overall supervision and guidance of the FAO Representative in Indonesia and the technical supervision of the FAO RAP (AGP), Bangkok and in close coordination with Director Plant Protection (National Project Coordinator) and TCDC Consultant (Pesticide Management) and in close cooperation with other consultants, he will undertake the following duties:
Tasks and Responsibilities :
- Provide assistance to TCDC consultant (Pesticide Management) in reviewing pesticide regulations in relation to bio-pesticides (bio-control agents, botanicals, microbial pest control agents and semio-chemicals) for strengthening.
- Prepare plan for organizing training of farmers in production of bio-control agents and quality management in three provinces of Indonesia covered under the Project
- Identify the essential equipment needs for organizing training of farmers in production of bio-control agents and quality management and arrange for procurement of the same under this project.
- Organize TOT training to district level facilitators in production of bio-control agents and quality management at farmer’s level, one in each of three provinces covered under the project covering 6 rice growing districts included under this project.
- Develop Action Plan on enhancing production and use of bio-control agents for control of rice pests for implementation by Government including providing bio-control agents production advisory services and subsidies on bio-pesticides
- Assist NPC in planning and organizing of National work shop
- Participate in National workshop
- Prepare and submit final mission report
- Minimum qualification is Master Degree in any discipline of Plant Protection viz., Entomology or phytopathology;
- Substantial experience in the field of pesticide management with special reference to organizing training in bio-control agents production & quality management at farm level field release and assessment.
