FAO Project Vacancy - National Consultant on Pesticide Management, Jakarta

Project Reference : TCP/INS/3403 - Strengthening and Revitalization of Integrated Implementation and Pesticides Management System in Indonesia.
FAO Indonesia currently is looking for Candidate to fill in the posisiton of NATIONAL CONSULTANT ON PESTICIDE MANAGEMENT

Term of Reference for National Consultant
(Pesticide Management)

Duty Station : Jakarta & training sites
Duration : 8 weeks (56 days) on When Actually Employed Basis

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the FAO Representative in Indonesia and the technical supervision of the FAO RAP (AGP), Bangkok and in close coordination with Director Plant Protection (National Project Coordinator) with TCDC Consultant (Pesticide Management) and in close cooperation with other consultants, he will undertake the following duties:

Task and Responsibility :

1. Provide assistance to National Project Coordinator in planning and organizing First PMC Meeting (Inception workshop) and participate in workshop;


2. Provide assistance to TCDC consultant (PM) in reviewing pesticide legislation/ regulations/registration procedure and organizational setup and advise improvements for strengthening the pesticide registration system;

3. Prepare pesticide safety booklets and other publicity material (charts/ posters) and arrange for translation, printing and distribution to farmer’s associations. extension workers & other relevant stakeholders in consultation with TCDC-Consultant (Pesticide Management);

4. Prepare plans for organizing one day awareness trainings of farmer’s in Pesticide Safety in six districts covered under the project in consultation with TCDC-Consultant (Pesticide Management)

5. Provide assistance to NPC in planning and organizing second PMC Meeting;

6. Provide assistance TCDC Consultant (PM) in developing guidelines for pesticide registration, quality control & enforcement;

7. Organize awareness trainings on pesticide safety to farmer’s associations extension workers and other relevant stakeholders, one in each of 6 districts covered under the project.

8. Assist NPC in planning and organizing National workshop at the end of project and participate in National workshop; and,

9. Prepare and submit final mission report
Eligibility:
• Minimum qualification is master degree in any field of plant protection;

• Substantial experience in the field of plant protection with reference to pesticide management; and,

• Track record of organizing training/extension programmes in pesticide management.
