FAO Project Vacancy - National Consultant on Eco Toxicity, Jakarta

Project Reference : TCP/INS/3403 - Strengthening and Revitalization of Integrated Implementation and Pesticides Management System in Indonesia.
FAO Indonesia currently is looking for Candidate to fill in the position of NATIONAL CONSULTANT ON ECO TOXICITY

Terms of Reference for National-Consultant
(Eco-toxicity)

Duty Station : Jakarta, Indonesia.
Duration : 15 days on When Actually Employed Basis

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the FAO Representative in Indonesia and the technical supervision of the FAO RAP (AGP), Bangkok and in close coordination with Director Plant Protection (National Project Coordinator) and in close cooperation with other consultants, he will undertake the following duties:

Tasks and Responsibilities :
1. Prepare plan for organizing training in eco-toxicity studies in consultation with TCDC-Consultant (Pesticide Management) and NPC;


2. Identify appropriate institute for organizing training in eco-toxicity studies and prepare a list of specific equipment/materials that are essentially required for organizing the training in eco-toxicity to facilitate their procurement under this project;.
 

3. Prepare a training manual on eco-toxicity studies of chemical pesticides in rice eco-system;
 

4. Organize 5 days training for pesticide regulators/agriculture extension staff in eco-toxicity studies of indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides in rice with the assistance of local training facilitator; and,
 

5. Prepare and submit the mission report
Eligibility:
• Minimum qualification is post- graduate degree in the medical toxicology. Master degree preferable.
 

• Substantial experience in the field of toxicology with special reference to pesticides; and,.
 

• Track record of experience of working on organizing appropriate training in toxicology of pesticides including eco-toxicity studies.
