Our Water and Sanitation (WASH) Program


SNV has an urban sanitation and hygiene program in 4 locations in Sumatra Barat and Lampung: Padang Pariaman, Sijungjung, Pringsewu and Lampung Selatan. The program is part of SNV’s regional urban sanitation program “Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All”, which is currently running in Nepal and Bhutan. In Indonesia, the Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All (SSH4A) program aligns with the Percepatan Pembangunan SanitasiPermukiman program (PPSP) of the Indonesian government.

To support the program, SNV is currently seeking a highly qualified national candidate to fill in the position of Program Assistant to be based in our Jakarta Office.

Detailed responsibilities are below:

Financial Administration support:

  • Record financial transactions in program ledger system. 
  • Prepare and check monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts, forecasts and project depletion for the program and submit to Finance officer. 
  • Follow up on program related receipts and payments, reconcile bank balances and manage liquidity levels of the program, based on guidelines of the Finance Officer and financial procedures.
Human Resources Administration:
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor the monthly timesheets including sickness/leave reports for Program Manager and Finance Officer. 
  • Deliver relevant HR data with regard to the program to the Finance/HR officer.
General Support:
  • Prepare meeting agendas. 
  • Arrange meetings and appointments.
  • Receive and answer phone calls and emails. 
  • Draft correspondence. 
  • Signal bottlenecks in planning and suggest solutions based on requests of team and agreed general support routines.
Logistic Services:
  • Coordinate with Management and Logistics Assistant to make travel arrangement for program members and travel delegations. 
  • Manage car utilization of project vehicle/s
  • Provide basic ICT support.
  • Coordinate with Management and Logistics Assistant to arrange procurement for the program and other activities, based on SNV guidelines and the approval of the Program Manager.
Databases/Filing:
  • Process mutation forms, ensure time writing database is updated and record relevant data in databases as requested. 
  • Proper filing of documents both hardcopies and softcopies.
Candidate profile
  • University degree in accounting or finance or management 
  • Minimum 5 (five) years of related experiences preferably in an International NGO/s
  • Good skills in project monitoring and evaluation, finance and administration with a positive hands on attitude
  • Good analytical skills and numerical skills and quality orientated 
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with donors, partners and government officials
  • Good organizing skills and interpersonal skills with a mature attitude 
  • Initiative and creative in solving problems
  • Knowledge of the Water and Sanitation sector and other sectors that SNV works in is an advantage 
  • Good command of spoken and written English, fluent in Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Good computer skills (Ms. Word, Ms. Excel, Ms. Power Point, Internet and E-mail)
Information on duty station: Jakarta with some travel to the provinces
Contract duration: 1 year consultancy contract with the possibility of extension.

Desired start date: As soon as possible.
