National Technical Officer for Injecting Drug Use (IDU)
Australian Government funded HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia
Position based in Jakarta
 
GRM International in collaboration with the Burnet Institute is the managing contractor for the HIV Cooperation Program for Indonesia (HCPI), the largest component of the Australia Indonesia Partnership for HIV.
 
HCPI is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of National Technical Officer for Injecting Drug Use. The position will be locally engaged and based in Jakarta. With support and supervision from the Injecting Drug Use Adviser, the National Technical Officer will be responsible for:
 
  • Liaison, collaboration and coordination with GOI, GFATM and other key stakeholders in harm reduction (HR) program implementation;
  • Support for capacity building / training related to Harm Reduction (HR) e.g. outreach programs, needle syringe programs (NSP), methadone maintenance therapy (MMT) and diversion systems for individuals and organizations;
  • Facilitate development of referral networks and utilisation of existing and new HR services to improve access to a comprehensive range of services; and
  • Supervision of provincial scaling up activities currently being implemented.
 
Interested candidates for the position should have the following qualifications and experience:
 
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a health-related field;
  • A general understanding of HIV/AIDS programming with an interest and commitment to prevention of HIV transmission amongst people who inject drugs;
  • Capacity to work with both government and non-government sectors;
  • Experience in networking, liaison, training, institutional strengthening and monitoring;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Good computer skills; and
  • Ability to work in English and Indonesian.
Preferred Criteria:
·         Master Degree in Public Health or equivalent
·         Experience working in Infectious Diseases.
