Chemonics International, a global international development
consulting firm (www.chemonics.com) seeks qualified Indonesian specialists for the USAID
Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM) project in Indonesia. HELM
aims to improve the academic performance of Indonesia’s higher education sector
through analytical support for strategic planning, policy analysis, and
capacity development approaches for effective implementation of key reforms
throughout Indonesia’s higher education sector. We are looking for an

EDUCATION RESEARCHER
Under the guidance of the Deputy
Chief of Party (DCOP), the Education researcher will manage the overall data
and research needs of the HELM program including identifying sources, providing
needed data and supporting analysis of gathered data to improve HELM program
activities and impacts as well as reporting. The Education Researcher will take overall responsibility for the management and overall
coordination of the Action Research Program (ARP) activities. This is not a supervisory position, but requires extensive
coordination with the technical team members as well as coordination and
communication between central and sub-offices staff.
As teamwork
is crucial to the success of the project, the Education Researcher will
coordinate with other technical, cross-cutting, managerial and administrative
HELM staff, and may be asked to complete other project related tasks per
direction from the DCOP and the Chief of Party (COP).
The
Education Researcher will be supervised directly by the DCOP and will work closely with the
technical specialists.
S/he will prepare regular progress reports that demonstrate the status
of project research and activities, with a particular focus on management and
coordination of the ARP, as well as other research reports as requested by the
DCOP or the COP.
Eligibility Requirements for this
Position
- Master degree in education, evaluation, or relevant field is required, doctoral degree is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in education research or related field is required. USAID or other international donor experience preferred.
- Excellent computer skills required. Strong English preferred.
- Demonstrated research skills and rich research experience is required. Research in higher education is preferred.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work well on teams.
- Must be interested in working with a multi-cultural, international team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
