Handicap International and Kosorsium Nasional Difabel (Konnas Difabel) funded by The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Justice will work together in 3 provinces (Sulsel, NTB and NTT) to improve capacities of organizations of persons with disabilities to raise-awareness about and participate in efforts to enable better access for people with disability to justice mechanisms.
HI currently is looking for two project officer positions for its offices in Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Mataram (NTB):
Position Title : Project Officer
Locations : Makassar and Mataram
Closing date : September 22, 2013
TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the line management of the the Deputy Project Manager, the Project Officer will work closely with the disabled people organizations (DPO) and civil society organizations (CSO) in his/her area of intervention. S/he will work in coordination with the different actors and networks involved in the project. The tasks in particular are:
• Conduct baseline activities
• Develop ToR and budget for organizational assessment and capacity building activities
• Implement assessment and other analytical tasks with DPOs and local CSOs
• Manage and organize the activities in his/her targeted areas (i.e. trainings, workshops, seminars)
• Provide technical guidance to organizations for their organizational and strategic development, as well as networking efforts
• To represent the project in front of local civil society and institutional stakeholders
• Work under partnership modalities with third parties/stakeholders
• Monitor and report the progress of the activities to line manager (through monthly and bi-monthly reports)
• Assist the Deputy Project Manager in preparing bi-monthly and final report (documented and analyzing findings)
• Carry out additional task requested by the Deputy Project Manager
DUTY STATION:
• 1 Project Officer will be based in Makassar (South Sulawasi)
• 1 Project Officer will be based in Mataram (NTB)
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
• Bachelor degree
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in the field of disability and support to society
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in INGO
• Fluent in English
Desired:
• Bachelor degree in Sociology or in any other relevant major
Contract will be for a period of 7 months with the possibililty of renewal to the end of the project. The recruitment is subject to the availability of funding.
