Indonesia is a
priority country for Switzerland’s economic development cooperation. Under the responsibility of the Swiss
State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the Indonesia country program
aims at strengthening economic governance, supporting private sector
development, and mitigating environmental impacts.
The Swiss Embassy in
Jakarta wants to strengthen its team working on economic development
cooperation and is currently looking for highly qualified personnel to join the
team as National Program Officer (2 posts) for:
1. Public Sector Management &
Infrastructure Development (NPO PSM)
The post holder will assist with the
implementation of SECO’s country program for Indonesia in the areas of public
sector management and infrastructure development. The program targets in
particular public financial management reform and support to public sector
infrastructure (e.g. waste management, sustainable energy).
Prospective candidates should have :
- a university degree at post-graduate level or equivalent, in economics, political or social sciences, or in an environmental science;
- a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in development, preferably related to public sector reform and/or infrastructure development;
- practical know-how of development cooperation, experience in program management and knowledge of relevant actors and institutions;
- work experience with an international organization.
2. Private Sector Development & Trade-related Measures
(NPO TCB)
The post holder will assist with the
implementation of SECO’s country program for Indonesia in the areas of private
sector development and trade-related measures. These measures primarily
target regulatory reform to improve the business and investment climate,
corporate governance, access to finance for SMEs, integration of SMEs into
global value chains, trade capacity building, and the promotion and application
of social and environmental standards.
Prospective candidates should have :
- a university degree at post-graduate level or equivalent, in economics, development studies, political / social sciences or a related field;
- a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in private sector development and/or trade capacity-building;
- practical know-how of development cooperation, experience in program management and knowledge of relevant actors and institutions;
- work experience with an international organization and/or private sector company.
General skills and competencies:
- Capacity to work independently and to interact with a broad range of partners;
- Good analytical & writing skills; ability to plan and organize work;
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills;
- Excellent command of English and Indonesian;
- Sound knowledge of economic and social trends in Indonesia.
