The
Center for Disaster Risk Management and Community Development Studies
(CDRM&CDS) is a department of Universitas HKBP Nommensen. CDRM&CDS has
developed a strategy to work with various communities of North and West
Sumatera and building capacity of LWF churches in Indonesia for development
activities. CDRM&CDS is seeking to recruit Communication Coordinator based
in Medan.
Responsibilities
The Communication Coordinator will
undertake the tasks related to all communications including maintaining photo
library, developing newsletters, maintaining websites, promoting writing
feature reports for strategic direction of CDRM&CDS.
The Communication Coordinator will
be based in Simalingkar, Medan,
but will be required to undertake periodic visits to different working sites of
CDRM&CDS in North and West Sumatra.. S/he will report to Executive Director
but closely work with all Field Coordinators and Managers.
Following
are the major responsibilities:
- Make sure the communication is strategically designed and managed
- Ensure all day to day function of communication is timely and efficiently done
- Assist Executive Director for resources mobilization
- Assist Executive Director and Program Managers for developing human resources in communication
- Make sure network is developed and maintained at all levels

Requirements
Technical
skills & Experiences:
- At least 5 years of experience with development and/or emergency communication work
- Fluent spoken and written English language skills.
- Command in computer application in MS Word, Excel, and Publisher etc.
Desirable
qualifications:
- Formal qualifications in social science with major in communication (bachelor degree/S-1or above)
- Willingness to travel to remote project areas.
- Cultural sensitivity, team spirit and dynamic person.
