Lowongan Kerja Communications Officer - Indonesia Climate Change Center, Jakarta

The National Council on Climate Change (Dewan Nasional Perubahan Iklim, DNPI) with the cooperation and support from the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), is seeking for a Communications Officer to support the Indonesia Climate Change Center (ICCC).
Background
U.S. President Obama and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang  Yudhoyono announced the U.S.-Indonesia Comprehensive Partnership in 2010, which consists of several initiatives to strengthen the bilateral cooperation to confront the challenges of the 21st century. These wide  arrays of programs were framed under 6 Working Groups, namely Democracy and Civil Society; Education; Climate and Environment; Trade and Investment; Security; and Energy.

Under the Climate and Environment Working Group, the National Council on Climate Change and the U.S. Forest Service have identified the need to strengthen the capacity of ICCC. ICCC is a resource center to produce science-based policies. ICCC also serves to encourage robust science-policy linkages in support of actions to deal with issues of
climate change in Indonesia.

ICCC comprises three key institutional elements: (1) Secretariat as a facilitator of the Center, (2) Steering Committee as a body to direct as well as advise strategically of center operation, (3) Research Clusters, consisting of Low Emission Development Strategies, Peatland and Mapping, Climate Resilience and MRV for Climate Programs, as supportive entities in building science-based policy and programs development.

As the development of ICCC is still in its infancy, the National Council on Climate Change recognises that a good communication strategy is central, both in disseminating the importance of the ICCC to the policy makers and scientific communities, and in creating demands for ICCC to produce assessment of a science-based policy that can address climate change challenges.

In support of this, the National Council of Climate Change, as the host of ICCC, has proposed to hire a Communications Officer to assist the center in implementing the communication strategy and the daily programs.
