Hivos Vacancy: Junior Programme Officer - MAVC (Making All Voices Count), Jakarta

Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organization guided by humanist values. It aims at structural poverty alleviation with a strong focus on civil society building and sustainable economic development. Hivos provides financial support for local NGO's, is active in networking, lobbying and exchanging knowledge and expertise. For its Southeast Asia Regional Office in Jakarta, Hivos seeks qualified Indonesian candidates for the position of:
Job Title: MAVC (Making All Voices Count) Junior Programme Officer Asia
Location: Jakarta
Responsible to: Programme Officer Asia

Responsibilities:
The junior Programme Officer supports the MAVC Programme Officer Asia in implementing the MAVC programme. Special focus is on administrative tasks for overall grant system of MAVC as well as assisting in logistics for brokering events.

Key tasks:
The JPO has many different tasks. Initially, the JPO supports the PO with project management. This means that the JPO supports the PO with identifying , assessing, selecting and contracting potential grantees in component 2 – Scaling Up and component 1 – Innovation Grants. He/she also prepares contracts, plans and evaluates reports and communicates with partner organisations in the region. 

He/she is responsible for entering all contracts into the management information system and to keep it up to date. The JPO is involved in the internal and external communication and contributes to writing annual work plans and annual reports. He/shesupports the PO in preparing presentations and meetings. Ad-hoc activities and administrative and organizational activities are also conducted by the JPO.

Profile & competences:
A JPO has an academic background in international cooperation and / or international communication, knowledge of and affinity with governance, citizen engagement and ICT for development, civil society and transparency and accountability. He/she should be strong in project management and good English communication and language skills is required. Furthermore, JPOs are flexible, communicative and open. They can indicate their limits in time, plan well, be assertive and decisive. JPOS often bring academic and analytical thinking along. JPOs have a proactive attitude and often come up with new ideas. They are willing to work, responsible and independent and can perform under pressure.
