Established in 1888 Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund e.V (www.asb.de) is one of Germany’s longest established and largest social welfare organisations. ASB has been working in Indonesia in partnership with the Indonesian government since 2006 (www.asbindonesia.org). Programming in Indonesia includes disaster risk reduction (DRR), livelihoods, technical assistance and emergency response. ASB is particularly concerned with issues of equality of access, empowerment and inclusion. ASB Indonesia is a co-founder of the Disability Inclusive DRR Network for Asia and the Pacific (www.didrrn.net).

Senior Trainer/Facilitator
Location:Yogyakarta with travel to field offices.

Summary:
Skilled trainer/facilitator to design, deliver and oversee trainings for a range of audiences and using varied and context-specific media and tools. Responsibility for quality control and the transfer of quality knowledge and practical skills to project teams to better deliver trainings in varied contexts. Design of content and syllabus and development of methods and tools. Monitoring and evaluation of training and knowledge transfer delivery using tailored qualitative and quantitative methods.
Key requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a demonstrable track record of success.
- Advanced qualification in education, communication or related field.
- Sound understanding of, and ability to apply, a range of training methods and approaches.
- Proven experience of guiding and mentoring to establish and maintain quality within a team.
- Proven experience of delivering trainings directly and via a training of trainers approach to a range of actors.
- Demonstrable experience of syllabus, content and material design and a clear understanding that these can yet be improved further.
- Understanding of and ability to apply a range of monitoring methods and techniques ‘in-class’ and at the programming level.
- A creative approach to problem-solving.
- First rate organisational and reporting skills.
- Excellent English and Bahasa Indonesia language skills.
- A creative, critical and enquiring and flexible mind.
- Enthusiasm, energy and an innate desire to better oneself and to improve the work of those around you.
Preferred:
- Previous NGO experience; however, an ability to adapt skill sets to new contexts highly valued.
- Sound knowledge of state of play relating to programming focus clearly helpful.
