Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the position of:
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Communications Manager is responsible for the Indonesia Program’s strategic communications efforts. S/he works with program managers to identify communication needs and opportunities and develop communication strategies for TNC. S/he provides support and strategic input to all communications and outreach activities within the Indonesia Program’s conservation sites.
The Communications Manager is also the primary interface with the media for the Indonesia Program. S/he develops and implements media and public relations plans that support the Indonesia Program, cultivates local print and broadcast media & publicizes priority conservation issues, manages both reactive and proactive media contacts as assigned and makes use of print, broadcast and electronic media to secure placements. S/he develops messaging and materials for special projects, events and issues and has primary responsibility for writing outreach materials in support of the program as well as coordinating releases from the Communications Unit. S/he will manage crisis communications when called upon. S/he develops and fosters relations with key persons in selected media and related fields to promote TNC’s objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field and 7 years’ experience implementing media relations programs and measuring results or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships
- Experience in project and account management
- Experience in editing, proofreading, written and oral communications
- Experience with word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software
Requirements:
- 7 to 10 years related experience or equivalent combination
- Public relations agency experience desirable
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both clients and media representatives
- Demonstrated initiative with ability to handle multi-faceted media environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in media and marketing team environments
- Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline
- Ability to foster an environment of creativity and professional growth
- Experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel. May require database management skills with ability to produce reports. Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data
