AEC Internship 2013
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums and maintaining the Australian Commonwealth electoral roll. The AEC also provides a range of
electoral information and education programs and activities. The AEC was first established in 1902, as a branch of the Department of Home Affairs. In 1973 it became the Australian Electoral Office, a name it retained until 21 February 1984 when it became the Australian Electoral Commission, a Commonwealth statutory authority.
Under the Australia Indonesia Electoral Support Program (AIESP), AEC Indonesia’s main mission is to provide assistance and build capacity within the Indonesian Electoral Commission (KPU). The program is funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and is expected to run from 2011 until 2015.
The Internship Program AEC's Indonesia office is providing opportunity for students enrolled in universities to undertake an internship at its office in Jakarta for 1 (one) month. The purpose of this program is for students to gain experience in the work of the AEC Indonesia office where their education experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments.
At the end of the internship period, interns will receive an internship certificate and if needed, a recommendation letter.
