Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Raise resources for the Programme; negotiate contributions; keep partners informed of key policy and operational issues of importance to the Programme; submit funding proposals;
- Forecast levels of contributions based on systematic gathering and updating of relevant information;
- Serve as the focal point for resourcing issues and ensure that managers are regularly updated on the resourcing status of on-going activities/projects;
- Gather and analyse information on government policies, trends and preferences;
- Prepare briefs and other documents explaining government policies/trends; alert senior management to major government issues;
- Advocate to government and increase their awareness of WFP’s programming and policies;
- Coordinate with other units in house to ensure that partnerships with the Government of Indonesia can be enhanced;
- Monitor trends/interests of the private sector with a particular focus on links to nutrition and food security;
- Develop strategies to address how to maintain/increase funding from traditional and emerging donors including the private sector;
- Develop partnerships with the private sector to raise awareness on food security and nutrition issues;
- Contribute regularly to internal and external communication vehicles including social media channels such as Facebook and twitter, and organise meetings, conferences and other events;
- Provide training and technical guidance to ensure consistent quality of work;
- Supervise staff within the Partnership Unit;
- Represent WFP at meetings;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experiences:
Education: University degree in one or more of the following disciplines: journalism, international relations, public relations, communications, political science, international development, development economics or another relevant field

Experience: At least three years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in international development, donor aid programmes or other related fields. Previous experience with fundraising, negotiations, public relations/advocacy and experience within the private sector are an asset.
Knowledge and Desirable Skills: Ability to articulate well and strong inter-personal skills. Experience in the area of food assistance or development. Advanced knowledge of WFP specified software (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Power-point); ability to use digital video and still cameras;
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
