The Sampoerna School of Education's (SSE's) Short Courses currently
serve primary and secondary school teachers in Indonesia and are
designed to increase leadership capacity and improve learning and
teaching environments. Students were admitted for the 2009-2010 and
2010-2011 academic years;however, the program was temporarily suspended
for program development and will be re-launched in September 2013. Two
short course programs will be offered: (1) the Teacher Education Program
(TEP) and (2) Education Leadership and Management (ELM). The TEP is
designed as an intensive one-year study program that will also be
offered on a modular basis to provide more choice to participants who
wish only to enroll in individual modules. ELM seeks to enrich educators
with competencies and skills to become more effective leaders in their
schools. In conjunction with Massey University in New Zealand, this
course aims to create positive, long-lasting change in Indonesian
schools. Those who successfully complete short course modules are
intended to be eligible for college credit toward a graduate degree in
education from SSE.SSE and the CRDE seek to engage a consultant who will
work with the CRDE team as the primary administrator for ELM and TEP
and who can also work closely with faculty members of SSE.
