Econusa Foundation Job Vacancy: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist, Jakarta

The EcoNusa urgently invites the best, most-talented and highly-motivated individuals to apply for the following vacancies: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist 1 (one) position based in Jakarta

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and implement all tasks related to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning activities:
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data (quantitative and qualitative) as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of all program implementation.
  • Capture best practices and lessons learned as well as stories of change from the programs including the research and assessment activities.
  • Identify gaps and suggest ideas or solutions for improving the existing MEL system.
  • Work closely with MEL Officer and MEL Manager to assure the quality of narrative program reports.
  • Lead the coordination in the process of development of narrative program reports on a regular basis including the end of program reports with all units or directorates.
  • Provide guidance and support to all units and local partners in the development of Theory of Change, proposals and log frames, program monitoring plans, tools, and narrative reports.
  • Work with all units and local partners to ensure the quality and accuracy of program documents.
  • Coordinate with all unit teams for the implementation of MEL activities or publication of any written pieces as required.
  • Conduct field visits as planned to monitor the progress of the program implementation and provide timely monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • Provide support in the activities of program evaluation with external evaluators or third parties.
  • Actively seek inputs (as necessary) from the internal programs including stakeholders and external parties at all levels
  • Be responsible for updating and reporting MEL activities to MEL Manager in regular basis
  • Build good communication and coordination to all internal teams and external parties
  • Carry out other tasks given in accordance with the needs of the programs.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

Essential
  • Bachelor’s (S1) degree, preferably a master’s degree in natural sciences, social sciences, or relevant fields.
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning of environmental or social sector programs.
  • Familiarity with ME tools and Information Communication Technology (ICT) materials.
  • Experience of working with the MIS system and using statistical packages such as SPSS is a plus.
  • High degree of competency in using Windows-based computer programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning, data dissemination techniques, quality assurance as well as generation of reports, and documentation for learning.
  • Experience in the facilitation of discussions, workshops, coaching, or training to staff or other parties in MEL-related issues.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English with excellent writing and editing skills.
Desirable
  • Good knowledge of social, political, economic, and environmental issues in Eastern Indonesia with some knowledge on forest conservation would be advantageous.
  • A hard worker with excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and maintain high standards of work.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in the organization of data and analysis.
