Role Summary:
This person works with the Assistant Communications Manager in gathering and producing clear, timely, fair, and accurate data, project updates, and impact stories from Indonesia for use of the Yayasan Satu Lentera Indonesia (YSLI).
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather data, news, testimonies/stories, photos, and videos from the field and project sites, and based on them, writes articles for submission to the direct Supervisor.
- Submits monthly prayer items of assigned target countries to the direct Supervisor.
- Maintains a photo archive from the field and selects necessary photos and captions to be fed to the SEA base office for appropriate use.
- Keeps and maintains a database for easy access and preference of any developments affecting the persecuted Church, e.g. from news, articles, testimonies/stories, academic journals, and other secondary references, especially in substantiating country assumptions, country profile, World Watch List (WWL) survey, and other planning tools and reports
- Assists the Country Manager and/or CRESP Manager in verifying incidents in the field.
- Maintains a directory of partners and contacts, and assists in coordinating with them to implement specific programs.
- Translates materials and serves as an interpreter in training programs as needed.
- Assists in performing research and project management work (SPMM) as and when needed.
- Contributes to the formulation of strategic and/or annual plans and budget of the target countries.
- Participates in team building and spiritual transformation activities and events.
- Performs other assignments from time to time as assigned by the country manager and supervisor.
Minimum Education Requirement
- A mature and growing Christian, with the pastoral recommendation, at least a college graduate, with a degree preferably in Communications, Journalism, or Socio-Political Science.
- Preferably with 2-3 years of ministry and/or relevant work experience.
- Understanding of the situation of the Persecuted Church and its needs, biblical grounding, proficiency in the English and Bahasa Indonesia languages.
- Teachable and eager to grow, hardworking, willing to travel to high-risk areas, adaptable, people-oriented (confident yet sensitive in relating with people, especially with foreigners)
- Research and writing, basic editing, training and facilitating, interviewing, computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Applications), operating equipment (LCD/Projector, cameras, voice recorders, etc.), interpersonal communication.
