United States Pharmacopeia Job Vacancy: Consultant Substantive Knowledge & Experience of the Indonesian HIV/TB Laboratory Systems

SHORT TERM CONSULTANT

United States Pharmacopeia (USP) is seeking to engage a consultant with substantive knowledge and experience of the Indonesian HIV/TB laboratory systems. USP seeks an individual to help conduct background research on HIV/TB laboratory strengthening activities in Indonesia and gather information for strategy development.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Undergraduate Degree in laboratory sciences, international development, public health, or health related field
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the current clinical HIV/TB laboratory landscape in Indonesia, with respect to laboratory national policy, strategy, programs, activities, HIV/TB laboratory program funding and projects, challenges and deficiencies, key implementers and stakeholders.
  • Good relationships/network with key HIV/TB laboratory stakeholders across Indonesia
  • Experience designing new projects for funding and knowledge of global health development donors, including USAID, CDC, The Global Fund, and other multilateral donors and foundations
  • Excellent technical writing skills, experience with gap analyses
Preferred:
  • Advanced degree in laboratory sciences, international development, public health, or health related field
  • Existing contact with relevant stakeholders, current NGOs, Govt. agencies that are implementing laboratory strengthening programs.
  • HIV/TB-related testing experience and training experience
  • LIMS experience
  • Ability to assist with HIV/TB-related lab design technical input
Deliverables:
  • Presentation on critical findings within one week of completion of scoping activities
  • Detailed report submitted within two weeks of completion of scoping activities to include findings as listed above
Anticipated consultancy Timeline: Up to four weeks, starting end of January at the latest. The consultancy may be extended (dependent on need and consultant availability).
