Kota Kita Foundation is growing and we are looking for passionate, impact-driven, individuals to join us in our transformation. We are currently looking for a finance assistant to support our collaborations with a growing number of international donors and funders.
About Kota Kita Foundation
Kota Kita (KK) is a growing non-profit organization based in Indonesia with expertise in urban planning and citizen participation in the design and development of cities. We build bridges between citizens and government towards a shared vision. We facilitate citizen participation and collaboration, infuence urban policies, encourage open access to information, and provide civic education to empower active urban citizens. We take on issues such as governance, inclusivity and climate change resilience. We have an interdisciplinary team with a design-driven approach to develop tools and methods for city-making. For almost a decade, KK has worked in more than 20 cities in Indonesia on a diverse range of projects from small scale urban interventions, city-wide assessments to large-scale strategic planning and visioning. We build platforms for new voices for change in our cities by organizing events such as the annual Urban Social Forum ( https://urbansocialforum.or.id/ ) – a civil society-led forum in Indonesia that brings together civil societies, civil servants, practitioners and students that work towards improving our cities. Kota Kita had received the Ford Foundation BUILD grant in 2019, a part of IDRC’s Think Climate Platform and has a consultative status at the UN ECOSOC.
International Grants at Kota Kita
In recent years, Kota Kita has become the recipient of a number of significant international grants to support our work as well as to implement more complex programs ranging from public realm improvements to climate change research. Our donors and partners include IDRC, Ford Foundation, GIZ, UNDP, Netherlands RVO, ADB, the World Bank and many more. We are also growing our team and portfolio of projects. We are in the process of transforming and scaling our institutional capacity, particularly in our financial accounting and management, in order to comply to international standards.
Finance Officer
Kota Kita seeks a finance officer that will support the implementation of various international grants and projects. The finance officer will report directly to the finance manager and operations director.
The candidate will need to have strong ethics and high integrity; be disciplined, thorough and analytical; a multi-tasker with the ability to learn new skills and processes on the go; be able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment; be able to familiarize themselves with new software and tools for accounting and financial management

Finance Officer

Key responsibilities of the finance officer will be:
- Creating daily accounting journals
- Prepare thorough financial reports for various funding sources and donor organizations
- Archive documents and inventories
- Develop an inventory system
- Support the operations team
- Support the development of reports for auditors – both for donor organizations and for organizational annual reports
The candidate should be:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent.
- At least 7 years relevant continuous work experience in finance and administrative functions.
We would love to work with you if you have experience in one or more of these areas:
- Administering international grants for non-profits/NGOs and donor funded projects
- Accounting for medium to large scale enterprises/organizations
- Working with mission driven enterprises and non-profits
- Procurement and preparation of financial reports and budget variance analysis
- Cash flow analysis
- Professional qualification as a CFA/CPA is considered a plus
- Because we work with a wide range of partners locally and internationally, the ideal candidate is bi-lingual in English and Indonesian.
