Save the Children Job Vacancy: Education Coordinator, Palu - Central Sulawesi

Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a Member. As Member, Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.

We are currently seeking to fill the following position:

Education Coordinator
1 (one) position based in Palu, Central Sulawesi

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Program Coordinator will support the implementation of Education Sector in Central Sulawesi Emergency Response. The post holder will ensure quality and timely project implementation in line with the overall planning framework, and in compliance with Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik and donor policies and procedures. Program Coordinator liaises and responsible to maintain good relationship with all key stakeholders and actors as the focal person in her/his designated districts and inter NGO. He/She responsible to supervise POs for project implementation and management (finance, logistic, administration). In close collaboration with Program Manager and District Manager, the post holder will contribute to succeed education sector implementation in Emergency response Central Sulawesi is planned and met as scheduled and up to the expected standards and quality benchmarks. He/She will responsible to maintain the relationship of education stakeholders with individuals, institutions, civil society, youth and communities in mutual respect and focused to the best interests of children.

The post holder will contribute on achievement of the global KPIs on Operations Delivery, and contribute to achievement of global KPI’ as follows:
  1. Awards management
  2. Risks and financial management
  3. Global Management Indicators
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
  1. Education background in Education, Community Health, Social Work, Social/culture study or relevant studies.
  2. At least 5 years experience in basic education; especially quality of education and school management in a non profit organization or private sector.
  3. Proven skills on community development and mobilization and work closely with key stakeholders.
  4. Proven skills on community development and mobilization and work closely with key stakeholders.
  5. Proven skill in capacity building of team, couching team member and experience to coordinate at least two sub-ordinate.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skill
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia. Experience in English based project report is preferable.
Desireable
  1. Ability to work fast, effectively and independently in often high pressure environments, working across a number of teams to deliver high campaign and program output.
  2. Have experiences work in Central Sulawesi and Emergency Response (desirable)
  3. Computer literacy
  4. Excellent basic program cycle
