Field Facilitator

Based in: Waingapu – Sumba Timur, NTT

REPORTS TO:  Project Coordinator

Expected commence date: November 5, 2019

Contract period: Until September 2020 with possibility for extension

Lutheran World Relief (LWR), a U.S. based non-profit development organization engaged in seeking lasting solutions to poverty and reducing risk, is seeking an experienced Field Facilitators to implement project in Sumba on natural resource management.

The Field Facilitator (FF) is responsible in supporting Project Coordinator to implement all the activities planned. The FF will work closely with community in village location to improve their capacity to conserve forest and other natural resource. S/he will ensure the overall project implementation as planned, build network for better knowledge on community based natural resource management, livelihood activities in village and district level, identify and coordinate possible approaches for project sustainability by carrying but not limited to task below:

  1. Assist and facilitate community in conserving area in savannah, forest and mangrove
  2. Assist and facilitate community in livelihood activities and relate with potential market
  3. As a point contact for organization at village level
  4. Ensuring stakeholder participation
  5. Assist community group in developing workplan
  6. Coordinate with local government in activities implementation
  7. Manage all project document at field level
  8. Ensure all project activities are being implemented according to schedule
  9. Ensure timely submission of project progress reports to Project Coordinator

Minimum requirement:

  1. Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
  2. Preferred bachelor degree from Forestry and/or having non-formal education in natural resource management
  3. Good communication skills
  4. Understanding on natural resource management
  5. Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and web browser software
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  7. Willing to be based in Waingapu, Sumba Timur
