Job Description: UCPRUK National Director, Indonesia
Established in 2009 in partnership with UCP Wheels for Humanity (UCP Wheels), UCP Roda Untuk Kemanusiaan (UCPRUK) focuses on providing mobility and empowerment for people with disabilities. Our programs are developed with the intention of integrating the provision of assistive devices within government healthcare. In order to achieve this goal, program activities include clinical skill development, policy advocacy, community awareness and concentrated collaboration with various levels of government.
UCP Wheels seeks an enthusiastic senior professional responsible for oversight and management of all day-to-day activities relating to UCPRUK’s Indonesia office. The National Director is responsible for the operations and programming model, future planning, financial sustainability, partner development, donor compliance and reporting and leads a team of clinical, technical and health experts in the field of assistive product procurement and service provision. S/he will report directly to the Yayasan Board and Executive Director of UCP Wheels for Humanity.
- Strategic Management: In partnership with the UCPRUK Management Team, and representatives of UCP Wheels; develop, implement, and assess the RUK strategy.
- Raise funds for the implementation of the UCPRUK program by coordinating with international and national donors, actively participate in and nurture relevant national networks.
- Responsible for the development of funding strategies, identification of potential funding sources, and the preparation and submission of proposals with coordinated budgets.
- Responsible to provide supervision, and mentorship over UCPRUK staff as to ensure staff capacity to perform in their position.
- In collaboration with the Program Manager, in close coordination with UCP Wheels, develop and supervise programming in line with the strategic plan for UCPRUK. This includes top-level responsibility for the appointment and supervision of program staff, project planning, implementation, monitoring and project management systems, assume final accountability for all UCPRUK projects.
- Be responsible for maintenance of a proper and transparent operations and financial system, in compliance with national and international standards and donor requirements.. Ensure a timely flow of funds to the projects, and ensure timely reporting. See to it that all relevant staff are adequately trained in financial management and that they are able to follow the donor’s rules and regulations in this aspect.
- In collaboration with UCP Wheels counterparts, and through the UCPRUK Finance and Operations Manager, provide top-level operations and financial management to UCPRUK. This includes responsibility for the appointment and supervision of financial staff, the development and maintenance of all administrative and financial controls and systems for all aspects of the UCPRUK program, ensuring that administrative and financial procedures, practices and reporting are effective and in compliance with UCP Wheels standards and general accounting and administrative guidelines, ensuring that the UCPRUK office is run in compliance with established operations and financial procedures, ensuring adherence to relevant Government of Indonesia regulations concerning operations of not-for-profit organizations.
- Maintain collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization, by ensuring good communication with UCP Wheels including timely submission of program reports, financial reports, planning documents and reports to donors, developing and maintaining excellent working relations with relevant donors, national and regional governments, and NGOs, public and private sector representatives, participating in collaborative efforts with other NGOs, national and local governments, donors, public and private sector partners, etc.
- Report to the Yayasan Board regarding organization compliance, program implementation, day-to-day operations, and staff development.
- Develop and update standard operational procedures, internal control and manuals which include operation manual, financial management manual, human resources manual, and safety and security. As to ensure compliance with Organization policy and guidelines and government of Indonesia rules and regulations
- Support resource decision-making processes that utilize available resources and pursue the best outcome possible by facilitating Annual Program and Budget Plan to ensure fund availability and activities are link with program strategies
- Minimum bachelor degree, and fluent in English
- 5 years experience in senior management of a non-profit
- Demonstrated experience successfully overseeing a Yayasan or small to mid-size social enterprise
- Knowledgeable about international donor community and national regulations as relates to program implementation
- Has a wide national and international network
- Experienced with planning and implementation, proposal writing and report
- Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
- Transparent and high integrity leadership
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to oversee, inspire and collaborate with staff
- Experience building and managing partner networks
- Fluency in and commitment to human rights approaches to social and health issues
Location: Yogyakarta, Java
Reports to: Executive Director of UCP Wheels for Humanity in USA on a weekly basis via Skype
