We currently have several openings for:
SIGAP OFFICERS (MISOOL & KOFIAU)
The SIGAP Officers is responsible for engaging and supporting communities in natural resource management. S/he uses the full range of participatory methods, tools, and processes to meaningfully engage communities in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. S/he provides administrative and project management support and other general assistance to program staff and consultants working towards the achievement of social objectives, conservation, or stewardship goals in accordance with SIGAP approach.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
- Facilitation and assistance integrated village governance through the SIGAP approach in 5 (five) villages consisting of 4 (four) villages in Kofiau (Deer Village, Mikiran, Dibalal and Awat) and 1 (one) village in Misool (Kampung Kapatcol)
- Facilitation and assistance to the Village Government for the preparation of village planning documents (RPJMKAM, RPKampung) which have included the SIGAP component including village budget that support the sustainable development program.
- Facilitation the analysis of regulatory requirement at the village level and formulating regulation needed to support program implementation in the field.
- Facilitation and assistance to Tourism Group for the development of community-based Ecotourism program, including building partnership with both government and non-government parties to support the successful implementation of an ecotourism program in Raja Ampat.
- Cooperate and build effective and integrated partnership between the district government, sub-district and village as well as relevant stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the target village development program.
- Revitalizing and strengthening the capacity of Village Owned Enterprise (BUMKAM) through assistance and training relevant to institutional aspect, business plan preparation, especially in the aspect of ecotourism and marine resource-based product development and other related matters.
- Establish cooperation with the management unit of Raja Ampat MPA in Kofiau and Misool through mentoring activity.
- Providing assistance to increase the capacity of target groups at the community level include analyzing the needs of capacity building for the community, government official and target groups.
- SIGAP Officer Misool will help to collect TURF data in Misool for the next few months
The SIGAP Officers is based in Sorong and reports to the BHS Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing staff or volunteers.
- Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists.
- Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
- Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
- Experience in training and curriculum design.
MERA SITE MANAGER
The MERA Site Manager provides program management support to the MERA Program Manager in the overall management, operation and coordination, ensuring smooth implementation of the MERA Program components in Jakarta, Riau, Central Jawa and other region MERA Project in accordance with the standards set out by the organization. S/he helps ensure a seamless program development, program implementation (specifically for the implementation of science in coordination with Conservation & Planning Manager) and reporting, including providing solutions to problems. S/he supports the MERA Program Manager in overseeing the development and implementation of different programs and projects in Jakarta, Riau, Semarang and other region. S/he represents the MERA program meetings, as necessary.
Duties include:
- Assist the Program Manager in implementation MERA Program in Jakarta, Riau, - Central Java and other regions which includes strategic planning, program development, operations and learning, including coordinating the design and implementation of conservation measures, maintaining and monitoring the program dashboard every month. Specifically, for the implementation of science needed coordination with Conservation & Planning Manager
- Coordinate implementation of the MERA program in Jakarta, Riau, Central Java with MERA Program Manager and MERA team members and convey MERA program work plan progress, make monthly reports and work with senior / middle managers who are relevant in handling slow progress or other problems, and assist in the implementation of programs by team members assigned on time.
- Assist the MERA Program Manager in carrying out management responsibilities as needed, such as distributing workshop invitations / seminars to stakeholders, compiling speeches, helping to provide key presentation materials for meetings and conferences, conducting research on certain technical issues.
- Support the MERA Director in staff management, related capacity building needs, and develop strategies to deal with it in collaboration with HRD.
- Support the MERA Program Manager in Program implementation and reporting.
- Support the MERA Program Manager in implementing the MERA program in other regions if needed
- Support other IOP activities under the guidance of Oceans Program Manager
The MERA Site Manager is based in Jakarta and reports to the MERA Program Manager.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS, law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
- Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.
- Experience with principles of land acquisition.
- Experience in training and curriculum design.
