ARK Job Vacancy: Project Officer (Civil Society Coordination) – Jakarta

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
ARK is looking for a Project Officer with relevant experience to implement a civil society organization (CSOs) capacity building project in Indonesia. The project will support CSOs working in the most complex areas of Indonesia to utilize strategic communications in support of community social cohesion. A key component of this project is the capacity building of partners to deliver and measure locally relevant strategic communications campaigns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Officer will support the Project Manager:
  • Work with CSO partners to design communications strategies, develop their online platforms and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with the ARK Insight team to ensure all project activities are recorded and measured, and provide regular guidance and mentorship to the CSOs to implement recommendations
  • Supervise the activities of CSO partners by attending team meetings, supporting planning sessions and attending outreach activities
  • Work with CSO administrative functions to develop their internal management capabilities including financial and budgetary management, inventory management, record keeping, due diligence procedures in support of remote ARK Corporate Services staff
  • Engage with donors to discuss project developments, research insights and potential programming opportunities
  • Support the Project Manager by leading on required procurement and recruiting processes, assist in completing donor reporting and facilitating in country visits from project stakeholders
  • Liaise with SMEs/expert consultants and help ensure that their inputs are reflected in all research, monitoring and evaluation, and programmatic activities
REQUIREMENTS
Essential

  • Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible project or civil society capacity building experience working
  • Full professional fluency in English and Bahasa Languages (written and spoken)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, political studies, public administration and communications and media studies.
  • Based in Jakarta or willing to relocate there. Willing to travel to other project delivery areas within Indonesia
  • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicts within the team and to resolve issues
  • Provide alternative solutions when confronted with problems that may affect the goals or deadlines for the project(s).
  • Ability to work under pressure, be a self-starter, team builder, innovative and demonstrate the capacity for maintaining high professional standards.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering strategic communications projects using social media platforms
  • Experience working with CSOs and/or NGOs to improve organizational capacity
