Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated as a “Prospect Member”. As ‘Prospect Member’ Indonesia has been identified as part of the next way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to full membership.
We are currently seeking to fill the following position:
INFRASTRUCTURE COORDINATOR
1 (one) position based in North Donggala, Central Sulawesi
ROLE PURPOSE:
The wild earthquake occurred in September 28, 2018 Friday was responsible for loosing hundreds of lives and damaging of thousands of houses and infrastructures. Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik (YSTC) responded with in 72 hours to provide basic needs in affected areas despite of many challenges on transportation. YSTC is working very closely with Government, humanitarian partners and Local community to provide integrated support such as Non Food Items and Shelter, water sanitation and hygiene promotion (WASH), Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), Child protection, Education and Nutrition.
Infrastructure unit in YSTC is supporting Education, Child Protection and Nutrition Program to establish Learning spaces, Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) and mother baby area (MBA). YSTC is supporting to repair or rebuild infrastructures in the affected areas to start education activities in close coordination with Education cluster, Education Office, School Management Committee (SMC) and other stakeholders.
This position is expected to lead on implementation infrastructure activities in direct supervision of Shelter and Infrastructure Manager. S/he needs to work very closely with Education, Child Protection and Nutrition team to prepare construction plan, to conduct site assessment, to prepare design and BOQ of infrastructure and to establish such facilities as per YSTC procurement policy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture, Engineering Management, Construction Management with 5 years’ experience in related field
- High level of knowledge on handling AutoCAD, SAP, MS word and excel
- High skill on preparing Bill of Quantity (BOQ), cost estimate and work schedule
- High level of skill on project management
- Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time
