CAMPAIGNS MANAGER

Overview of Role:
A Change.org Campaigns Manager is responsible for managing our team of campaigners, as well as our portfolio of high impact campaigns, in service of our users. This particular position will manage our projects with under specific umbrella issues such as environmental protection, women empowerment, and others.

This involves leading the process of identifying campaigns, developing campaign strategies, mapping power and influence, leveraging media and social media, doing outreach to decision-makers, developing creative escalations tactics, and leading a team to execute them.

On top of things having high initiative, a strong understanding of the Indonesian socio-political landscape, and the ability to learn new digital tools; the Campaigns Manager must have strong managerial, coaching, and facilitation skills.

A wide network in civil society, media, and decision-makers would be a great advantage.

About us:
Change.org Indonesia is a non-profit partner of the Change.org Foundation. Our organization helps users across Indonesia to use Change.org tools to forward their cause and bring about real changes in their communities. The causes range from environmental, anti-corruption, human rights, and many others, from the national level to the very local.

Since we first started in Indonesia in 2012, our users have grown from a mere 8 thousand users to 7.6 million users. At that time, the same users have used Change.org tools in important fights from saving forests, protecting our democracy, and fighting injustice.

To serve those 7 million users, we are currently a 7 person team in the office. That’s why we serve passionately in our work, but also take fun seriously. We are also a part of a global network of Change.org teams around the world.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Manage & prioritize winnable and high impact campaigns to assist in our portfolio.
  • Lead the team to develop campaign strategies including messaging, media outreach, social media activation, decision-makers engagement, and escalation tactics.
  • Lead the design process of winning campaign strategies, from developing sharp key messages, mapping power structures, to creative campaign tactics.
  • Build and manage relationships with related civil society organizations to help drive campaigns.
  • Do general campaigning work such as producing content, writing emails, administering Change.org tools, when needed.
  • Monitoring and supporting performance of campaigners, as well as facilitating personal development, contributing to the culture of wellbeing and work-life balance to the team.
  • Assist project director in determining a strategic direction for the projects department
  • Along with Project Director, develop proposals and reports for specific projects.
Key Relationships:
  • Internal: Campaigners, Project Director, Country Director, Country Team, Regional & Global team.
  • External: Users, civil society organizations, media, governmental & corporate decision-makers.
Role Requirements:
  • University Degree in Social Sciences or relevant field (required)
  • Minimum of 6 years experience leading campaigns for social impact, both online and offline (required)
  • Strong managerial & coaching skills (required)
  • Strong understanding of the socio-political landscape in Indonesia (required)
  • Writing compelling & impactful stories, sometimes through limited mediums and under tight timelines (required).
  • Strong media campaigning skills (required)
  • Fast ability to learn new digital tools and apps (required)
  • Strong planning as well as execution skills (required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (required)
  • Fluent spoken English (required)
  • Fluent written English (preferred)
