SPEAK Indonesia Job Vacancy: Wash Training Specialist, Jakarta

The Alternative Education Assessment Strategy for Communication, abbreviated as SPEAK, is a legal entity established with a single objective; to develop communication strategies and institutional capacities to bring benefits to our clients and partners.
SPEAK Indonesia provides training program, community development, research and technical assistance to improve communication skills, advocacy, journalism, public relation and develop communication materials/media. In the last five years SPEAK has some experiences to during work on water and sanitation, spatial land, health, agroforestry, community cash transfer (MoSA program) and including gender awareness into the sector.
To ensure that improvements in access to water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services are sustained, SPEAK in collaborating on IUWASH PLUS is guided by a development hypothesis that focuses on strengthening service delivery systems so they can more effectively reach the poorest and most vulnerable segments of the population. In order to achieve this at scale, SPEAK undertakes activities through four interrelated components, including: 1) Improving household WASH services; 2) Strengthening city WASH institutional performance; 3) Strengthening the WASH financing environment; and 4) Advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication.
To achieve these outcomes we seek a qualified Indonesian candidate to fill the position of:
WASH TRAINING SPECIALIST
(Job Code : WATS-JKT)
Task and Responsibility:
The Training Specialist will coordinate the overall SPEAK training program to improve household WASH services as well as facilitate and promote the trainings to stakeholders at national level (GOI, donors, STBM, PERPAMSI, Pokja-AMPL, and others). The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
  • Managing training program that will imprpove household WASH services
    • Developing and maintaining system for tracking the progress of trainings and the impact to WASH access
    • Supporting and help to organize training event as well as facilitating training
    • Lead the development of training modules in coordination with other specialists under Component 1and with other IUWASH PLUS Components, including: Component 2, Strengthening City and Districts WASH Institutional Strengthening; Component 3Strengthening the WASH financing environment; and Component 4, Advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication
    • Providing input and support for the training program under Componet 1 as well as under other IUWASHPLUS Components, including: Component 2, Strengthening City and Districts WASH Institutional Strengthening; Component 3Strengthening the WASH financing environment; and Component 4,Advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication.
    • Document training modules/manuals and share to the national and regional stakeholders, in coordination with other specialists under Component 1 and with other IUWASH PLUS Components, including: Component 2, Strengthening City and Districts WASH Institutional Strengthening; Component 3,Strengthening the WASH financing environment; and Component 4, Advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication.
  • Promoting STBM implementation in urban context
    • Working closely with MOH to promote STBM implementation in urban
    • Proactively share IUWASH PLUS experiences and lessons learned in implementing STBM in urban context
    • Regularly share update information (regulation, activities, etc.) related to STBM to other specialist under Component 1 as well as with other IUWASH PLUS Components, including: Component 2, Strengthening City and Districts WASH Institutional Strengthening; Component 3Strengthening the WASH financing environment; and Component 4, Advancing national WASH advocacy, coordination and communication.
    • Providing input for STBM related activities implement under Component 1 both at national and regional
  • Coordinate and support IUWASH PLUS Regional training program through:
    • Providing input for the  design of the training
    • Preparation of IUWASH annual work plans and budgets resulting in agreed action plans, incorporating cost-sharing and /or leveraging of local and National stakeholders,
    • Monitoring and Reporting of IUWASH PLUS training in all IUWASH PLUS locations, in line with approved project proposals and budgets including SOW for training implemented by regional teams
    • Maintaining regular contact with Regional BC/Marketing Specialists and other Regional Specialists, joining regular IUWASH meetings, and providing advice to Regional Managers and the BC/Marketing Advisor on priority technical issues.

Qualification:
  • Possess at least a university degree (S1) majoring in environmental health, public health or communication
  • At least 5-years experiences providing technical assistance or as a consultant of enterprises preferably in similar issues
  • Experiences in developing training modules, preferably training module related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Issues and or STBM
  • Able to work independently in limited supervision/facility in his/her designated areas
  • Excellent team player with a range of people, excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in community facilitation, training and organizing work
  • Experience in report writing, preferable in English.
