USAID - JAPRI Project Job Vacancy: Grant Manager - Jakarta, Indonesian

Institute of International Education (IIE) is a private nonprofit leader in the international exchange of people and ideas. In collaboration with governments, foundations and other sponsors, IIE creates programs of study and training for students, educators and professionals from all sectors. These programs include the flagship Fulbright Program and Gilman Scholarships administered for the U.S. Department of State. IIE also conducts policy research, provides resources on international exchange opportunities and offers support to scholars in danger. IIE’s mission is to advance international education and access to education worldwide.
The Grant Manager will manage sub-grants to JAPRI partners, will work closely with the Finance Officer and ME&L Specialist to monitor sub-grantee progress toward program targets, and will provide guidance on compliance with USAID and IIE rules and regulations. Work is carried out independently under general supervision.
Essential Duty:
  • Work with prospective grantees to ensure financial resources plans are consistent with the objectives of the individual partners and finalize grant agreements
  • Support administration of sub-grants in compliance with USAID regulations to include leading the monitoring of sub-grant implementation, tracking sub-grant deliverables; tracking fund transfers to grantees and providing regular status reports.
  • Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following
  • All IIE policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties and functions as assigned.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; advanced degree in accounting, business, public
    administration or a related field preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience; USAID experience preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience managing grants programs including facilitating the completion of all administrative steps required for the implementation of the full grant lifecycle process from solicitation to award to final closeout.
  • Experience working with high and low capacity organizations. Extensive knowledge of USAID rules and regulations (FAR, AIDAR and ADS 303).
  • Excellent management and administrative skills; ability to negotiate budgets, reviewing financial vouchers, and expense reports.
  • Administrative experience with NGOs and NGO procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to conduct field visits, training, and undertake monitoring activities if needed within Indonesia.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, excellent written and oral English.

Work condition and Physical Demand:

Essential functions are performed in a general office setting with low noise.
