Habitat for Humanity Job Vacancy: Creative Copywriter - Jakarta - Indonesian

Habitat for Humanity is an international non-profit, Christian ministry that builds houses for and with people in need regardless of their race, religion, and/or background. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live and our mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Since 1997, Habitat for Humanity Indonesia has been serving more than 45,000 families through constructions of decent housing and community facilities, house repairs and renovations, clean water and sanitation programs, and the disaster response program. Currently, we serve in four branches and five project sites throughout Indonesia.

Our National Office in Jakarta is currently seeking some professionals who have willingness to involve in social work and NGO world to fill the following position. Ideal candidates should be Indonesian, who are strong qualified personality with excellent leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is an important prerequisite.

CREATIVE COPYWRITER

Job Description:

Creative Copywriter will be working with the Communications Team and Communications Manager, and is responsible for developing the words and scripts that accompany organization’s profile, mass media publications, digital project and visuals design, also developing stories from organization’s project and events. He/She also will be responsible for researching, drafting, editing of organization’s written communication strategies across in-house media, social networking, hard-copy printed marketing and email programs. The focus of content produced will be about educating the public about organization’s work in building decent homes and community facilities, and inspiring them to participate in online and local community activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing the words and scripts that accompany digital project and visuals design;
  • Also making copy or writing conceptual copy expressing positioning/messaging ideas and liaison with creative for input;
  • Responsible for researching, drafting, editing of organization’s written communication strategies across in-house media, social networking, web networking, hard-copy printed marketing programs;
  • Support Communications Manager in maintaining on time schedule of newsletter and regular report (annual, semi-annual report);
  • Involved in the iterative process of developing a deliverable that represent partner’s and HFHI missions (press release, news);
  • Checking all the content produced/advertised is truthful and complies with the necessary codes of practice (e.g. brand guidelines);
  • Ensuring content synergy with our brand protocols, campaign messaging and other public communications;
  • Develop and produce digital media materials i.e. visual images, simple photography;
  • Supporting the Communication Team to develop project program and events;
  • Brainstorming and aligning textual contents and visual ideas with donor/partner’s core message and target audience;
  • Enabling the team with the best and latest in content strategy. 
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree / Post Graduate Degree, any field;
  • Good knowledge & having experience as creative copywriter minimum 2 years;
  • Having experience to handling event;
  • Have an interest in people, communities, business, popular culture, and new content/communications trends and techniques;
  • Have a passixon in corporate writing, marketing and promotion ( such as: Company profile, Annual Report,Calender, Brochure etc);
  • Microsoft office intermediate level user;
  • Strategic deck writing experience such as crafting skill will be an advantage;
  • Basic skills in design and operating design software is preferable and also good photography skill;
  • Good communication skills, good ethics, able to work in the team and independent and problem solving oriented;
  • Honest, meticulous, having good interpersonal skills, and hard worker;
  • Be imaginative and creative;
  • Fluently in English both oral & written.
  • Having experience working in NGO is preferable.
