The Wahid Institute Job Vacancies: 5 Positions Based in Indonesian

Wahid Foundation, formerly known as The Wahid Institute, who strive for a just and peaceful world has become one of the leading voices espousing moderate and tolerant views of Islam in Southeast Asia. In line with our new project, to enhance the capacity of Civil Society/Muslim progressive in preventing and responding  towards violence extremism and Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF), we are currently looking for professional candidates to fill in position as below:

Deputy Project Manager

Qualifications:
  • Minimum graduated with Bachelor degree (in any major), preferable Master degree
  • Min have 3 years work experience as Deputy Project Manager
  • Detail oriented and able to meet deadline
  • Well developed interpersonal skill and analytical skill
Job Description:
  • Create a detailed work plan, schedule for project completion, review the project schedule, and determine the objective and measures upon which the project will be evaluate at its completion.
  • Build partnership and working closely with project key stakeholders including government agencies, CSO and media
  • Manage project staff and/or volunteers according to the established school for peace, media syndication, policies, and practices of the project and organization.
  • Execute, develop, monitor, review, and establish the progress of the project and make adjustment as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Write reports, monitor cash flow and narratives to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Education & Policy Officer

Qualifications:
  • Minimum graduated with Bachelor degree (in any major), specify in education and policy field is preferab
  • Min have 4 year work experience as Education and Policy Officer
  • Well develop and deliver on high-level strategic priorities, and experienced in the design and evaluation of education and policy.
  • Familiar in developing the curriculum, monitor, and evaluate the community training.
  • Skilled communicator and experienced in education and policy analytical skill, managing and developing a capable and skilled team.
  • Fluent in English both written and oral.
Job Description
  • Drives the development, implementing, and monitor of the project work realised through curricullum and data, strategic project oversight and frameworks.
  • Work with student activist organisation (ROHIS), Dewan Kesejahteraan Masjid (Mosque Council), labour union, communities, religious leaders, and government to develop solutions to issues facing communities. Candidate will also be integral in the development of impact and outcomes.
Editor in Chief

Qualifications:
  • Minimum graduated with Bachelor degree in communication, journalism, or related field
  • Min have 4 year work experience as Editor in Chief 
  • Have a stong competencies in journalism including reporting, research, article verification, vetting of sources and writing of daily or weekly columns.
  • Have a strong familiarity with onlineand offline content and how to promote and monetize it.
  • Skilled communicator and experienced in managing and developing a capable and skilled journalist team.
Job Description
  • Manages all the day-to-day operations of an online and offline publication, such as  article, coloum, journal, video, infographic, pocket book, pamphlet/buletin, and poster.
  • Oversees his/her assistants, or department, editors of a publication and ensures each issue is released on time. Candidate will also be integral in the development of impact and outcomes.
  • Responsible for hiring, especially of the freelance writers, creates the editorial board, or outline, for each of the publication's editions or issues.
  • Reviews all articles and photographs for accuracy as well as potential libel or slander, and provides suggestions, if needed, about any changes to make before the publication goes to press or is released digitally. 
  • Manage issues, plans, and other business relating to the publication
Editor in Chief Assistant

Qualifications:
  • Minimum graduated with Bachelor degree in communication, journalism, or related field
  • Min have 2 year work experience as Editor in Chief Assistant
  • Have a stong competencies in journalism including reporting, research, article verification, vetting of sources and writing of daily or weekly columns.
  • Have a strong familiarity with online content and offline content and how to distributed it.
Job Description
  • Manages all the day-to-day operations of a cyclus contents to national and local.
  • Responsible in editing, rehabilitative corrective, and reform the contents.
  • Responsible in inventory the incoming contents both the old and new contents
Government and Education Relation Expert Mentors

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum graduated with Bachelor degree (in any major), specify in psychology (community practitioner field) is preferable 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in implementing project at local/regional level 
  • Experience in community based approaches.
  • Experience in implementing curricullum is desirable.
  • Openness to cultural differences and willingness to stay in local field and travel to construction field all the time.
  • Sense of humor, Strong organizational skills and able to coordinate and manage a diverse array of activities, communities, and stakeholders.
  • Patient, Good listening skill, and Commitment to humanitarian and human right principles and values.
Job Description
  • Identify and mobilize the implementation of curricullum, skills and promote self-help approach within the communnities and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for meeting with the assigned mentee for the agreed-upon time frame.
  • Work closely with mentee through phone contact, personal conferences, and group meetings.
  • Build partnership and working closely with project key stakeholders including student activist organisation (ROHIS), Dewan Kesejahteraan Masjid (Mosque Council), labour union, communities, religious leaders, government agencies, CSOs, and medias.
  • Monitor progress and quality of activities at field level.
  • Inspect on daily basis activities at field to ensure adherence to agreed standards and processes.
  • Monitor the delivery, handling and utilisation of materials at field
