Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for the
Media Advocacy Specialist, Jakarta based, on our USAID LESTARI
project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government of Indonesia to
reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve biodiversity in
carbon rich and biologically significant forest
and mangrove ecosystems.
Job Summary:
The
Media Advocacy Specialist is responsible to lead the effective design
and implementation of a range of media and advocacy strategies to
stimulate broad-based coverage thus create the public and
political will that will bring about desired change. S/he will also be
responsible to lead the identification, creation and enhance the
capacity of a network of campaigning groups and individuals
(champions/potential advocates) across LESTARI landscape that
regularly take advocacy actions.
Tailored to local opportunities and
constraints, media advocacy will involve a diversity of traditional,
social and locally-driven media approaches.
Media advocacy works will
focus within LESTARI landscapes, and may also
focus at the provincial and national levels to ensure adequate policy
and financial support for LESTARI landscapes work.
The Media Advocacy
Specialist is part of the LESTARI Communications and Advocacy Team, and
other technical staff, subcontractors and grantees.
S/he will also work in close coordination with Monitoring and
Evaluation Team in utilizing and disseminating knowledge management
materials (e.g., lesson learns, success stories, study results, etc.) as
input for media campaign and advocacy.
