The program aims at increasing competitiveness of selected tourism destination in order to create income and job opportunities for the local population in the tourism sector.

For program activities in South Sulawesi, Swisscontact is looking for enthusiastic and independent professionals in the following field of expertise:
Program Officer External Destination Marketing
Main task: Responsible to assist the destination to have platform and be able in promoting and marketing the destination by preparing attractive tourism objects and make available high quality local Tourism info for regional and local promotion purposes; provide to local stakeholders on the job training in tourism attraction assessment and development; support local Destination Management Organization to develop concept and structure for a local Tourism Info Centers incl. responsibility and operation of the info center.
In addition responsible for skills training and capacity building of local tourism associations and businesses to improve the quality of services; Relationship management between the private sector, public institutions and the Destination Management Organization.
Requirements: At least 3 years experiences in tourism businesses (preferable tour operator), have background related to marketing approach, understand the development working area, have strong interpersonal skills, pro-active, assertiveness.
General requirements:
- Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Good command of written and spoken English, excellent computer skills (MS office)
- University degree in relevant field of study (those lacking the stated educational requirements but having an excellent track record are encouraged to apply);
- Interest in development work and eco-tourism;
- Excellent work ethic, self-starter and flexibility in schedule
- Background experiences dealing with small-medium enterprises as well as community involvement
- Preferred applicants from the local area (South Sulawesi)
- Willing to relocate to Toraja, South Sulawesi for selected applicants who are not residing in South Sulawesi
