The Post: Country Director

The Country Director ensures an integrated approach in the development and execution of Program and project work plans and outcomes in the country.  This role is the conjugate between national program staff and Program leadership.

The Country Director provides leadership and coordination support to the country department managers in GPSEAs Program, and ensures the integrated Project teams work effectively together to advance the organization’s regional and global objectives. This position is responsible for the delivery of the integrated Program in the country.

As the leader of the Country Coordinating Team (CCT), (s)he helps to ensure that GPSEA organizational policies and operational procedures are adhered to and implemented in the country office, providing regular updates to the Senior Management Team (as required). Where appropriate and as delegated (by the Executive Director and/or Programme Director), the Country Director will serve as the legal and external representative for Greenpeace in the country.

The Country Director will also serve as a member of GPSEA’s Regional Management Forum and the Program Director’s Team.

Key Duties
  • Develop and manage a high performance Programme country implementation team 
  • Provide strong national based implementation of GPSEA’s Programme goals. 
  • Ensure the delivery of projects, targets and Programme work in the country; oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the organizations regional strategic plan in the country. 
  • Lead the Programme planning in the country office. 
  • Oversee the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the organizations regional strategic plan in the country.
