Part time – National Experts in Magelang/Sleman/Yogyakarta (multiple positions)
Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in Tourism Sector
The
national Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Programme (NRECPI)
in Indonesia is calling for expressions of interest from suitably
qualified Indonesian nationals for participation in a combined training
and demonstration/assessment programme for Resource Efficient and
Cleaner Production (RECP) in the hotel and associated tourism sectors
focused on Magelang and Sleman within the greater Yogyakarta-Borobudur
region.
The RECP Programme for tourism
sector is implemented in connection with the Sustainable Tourism pilot
programme of the Ministry of Tourism. A formal launch and introduction
workshop are foreseen in February 2016 in Sleman or Magelang. This will
be followed by training and demonstration/assessment programme from
March 2016 targeting initially some 12-15 hotels and associated tourism
enterprises and public facilities in Sleman and Magelang. Participating
experts will receive training in international best practice methods and
practices for conducting RECP assessments in enterprises, with
particular focus on hotels and tourism at large. Moreover, suitably
qualified training participants will be offered an opportunity to
undertake RECP assessments in nominated hotels and/or related tourism
enterprises under the guidance of international experts. Upon successful
completion of such RECP assessments, trainees would qualify for a
Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Award for experts, issued by
the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The
RECP Programme in Indonesia is implemented by the UNIDO in partnership
with the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Environment Forestry and
Ministry of Tourism and with funding support from the Government of
Switzerland until June 2018. It is aimed at fostering the uptake of RECP
methods, practices, technologies and policies, through capacity
building, enterprise demonstrations, and policy advice. RECP is based on
the application of preventive environmental management and total
productivity concepts to manufacturing, tourism and other sectors, in
order to achieve efficient use of natural resources (materials, water
and energy), minimization of the generation of wastes and emissions, and
reduction of chemical and industrial risks.
Candidates
for positions of National Experts should have demonstrable knowledge in
energy and/or environmental management and/or engineering and have
demonstrable experience in application thereof in service sectors and
built environment. They should be familiar with the operation of hotel
and tourism industry in Indonesia. Consultants, business advisors,
lecturers and /or researchers are welcome to apply. He/she will support
the execution of RECP Assessments in nominated demonstration enterprises
(hotels and/or associated tourism sectors) over an estimated 25 days
(including a minimum of 8 on site visits within 6 months. English
proficiency at professional level is highly desired. Expressions of
