KOMPAK Senior Travel Officer
Program Overview
KOMPAK (Governance for Growth) is a large and complex program that is uniquely placed to add value to the Government of Indonesia’s own efforts to improve the social and economic conditions of its citizens; it is aimed at economic expansion and poverty reduction in Indonesia. Abt JTA is supporting frontline services—including health and education—while identifying governance constraints. The work accompanies implementation of Village Law and Local Government Law (UU 6/2014 & UU 23/2014), new national rules that empower local communities and increase the direct flow of money to village governments and services. KOMPAK seeks to strengthen the capacity of all levels of government to improve services, respond to citizen needs and contribute to stable prosperity.
The Opportunity - 6 months with possibility of extension
With an anticipated start date of January 2016, the Senior Travel Officer will provide travel and logistical arrangement support in Jakarta and other areas in relation to KOMPAK activities in liaison with program personnel. Role responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with staff requests for travel and accommodation, and logistical support for KOMPAK activities;
- Ensure required documents and procedures for travel arrangements are in place and information for processing travel arrangement are known to KOMPAK staff and providers;
- Liaise with travel and transport providers and advise them of the companies travel policy/guidelines and process;
- Review invoices (biweekly), prepare payment requests and submit to the Finance Officer for payment process;
- Liaise closely with others in the finance team on official travel financial matters and other related personnel in general;
- Ensure the travel arrangement procedure is compliant with KOMPAK policy and guidelines; and
- Update travel planner of KOMPAK staff/Weekly basis.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in travel administration;
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- Good knowledge of domestic and international reservation process;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent negotiating skills;
- Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team; and
- Fluent in both Indonesian and English languages.

an anticipated start date of January 2016, the Innovation Coordinator
is responsible for the management of KOMPAK innovation activities. These
include building partnerships with local government senior officials,
local parliament members, social activists as well as the private sector
particularly those who have been involved in promoting and encouraging
innovation in front-line service delivery in Indonesia. Role
responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with local governments to gain to establish a learning hub for innovations;
- Map and document ongoing innovations in frontline service delivery;
- Explore opportunities to foster a physical collaborative space for innovation;
- Sustain and contribute to government/civil-society/private sector collaboration;
- Manage an internship program to develop the potential of young Indonesian leaders and innovators; and
- Manage KOMPAK “innovation for the poor” challenge fund.
Our Requirements
- At least 6-10 years working with Kabupaten Province and National Governments or agencies particularly in public sector reforms;
- Strong networks with both government, CSOs and the private sector;
- Out of the box thinking (innovation) and strong interest in working and developing innovations to improve the front line services in Indonesia; and
- Strong facilitation and advocacy skills.
