THE POSITION
LOCATION: MAUMERE
The
role will work with our team on the Wonder Women Eastern Indonesia
program, making clean energy technologies available in remote
communities through a network of women micro-small entrepreneurs (MSEs).
These local (generally) women entrepreneurs sell life-changing
technologies, such as water filters, cookstoves and solar lights, within
their communities, earning a margin from each sale. Kopernik supplies
technologies on consignment to these micro-entrepreneurs and provides a
suite of training and support to help them succeed. Many MSEs are based
in remote areas with little or no access to telecommunications or
Internet.
This role is to support the Program Managers in implementation of the Wonder Women Eastern Indonesia program.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in a relevant discipline
- Excellent communication skills in Indonesian and English
- Direct work experience in small businesses in Indonesia with a focus on marketing and distribution
- Prior experience in marketing or distribution of clean energy technologies preferred
- Experience in organising and delivering business or sales trainings and other promotional activities
- Strong teamwork and motivational skills and ability to build rapport with small business owners
- A can-do and collaborative mind set - comfortable with the ambiguities and demands of a rapidly evolving work environment
- Impact and data focused
- Experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Fully computer literate
- Willingness to work in and travel to rural villages
- Can ride a motorcycle in off-road conditions and possess valid drivers license (SIM C)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with program team to ensure a high percentage of Tech Agents/Ibu Inspirasi achieve their target sales, profitability and high levels of compliance with management, financial, inventory and service standards
- Staff management of program staff based in the field
- Deliver training on product knowledge, sales and marketing, record keeping and financial management to tech agents/ Ibu Inspirasi
- Work with Kopernik monitoring and evaluation team to conduct activities including, surveys, interviews, etc
- Implement marketing and promotional efforts advised by Kopernik to support sales goals
- Identify new partnership opportunities with local partners in East Flores & Lembata
- Work with the program team to recruit new tech agents
- Provide regular updates on sales and targets through databases, Powerpoint and Excel
- Provide materials for blog posts and reports of the project including good quality photos and videos
