Position Title: Regional Program Director Assistant (RPDA)

Handicap International is an international humanitarian organization that works in the field of international solidarity focusing in disability. Handicap International Indonesia, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs of Republic of Indonesia, implements activities that will allow people with disabilities and vulnerable groups in Indonesia to have better access to services and increase their participation into political and public life.

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
The main jobs of the person will be to support/assist  the Regional Program Director and to insure the external communication. Under the line management of the Regional Program Director, the Regional Program Director Assistant will travel across Indonesia & Timor-Leste to assist and support the Regional Program Director’s main actions. Under the responsibility of the Regional Program Director, she/he will negotiate with authorities at national level. Some of the tasks in particular are:

In Communication:
  • Create, develop and monitor HI external communication tools (web site, annual report, leaflet etc.). 
  • Manage and develop the library and documentation.
In assisting the Regional Program Director:
  • To ensure correct communication, information and reporting toward National Authorities. 
  • To manage all obligation requested by National Governmental Authorities related to HI presence in Indonesia (Memorandum of Understanding, national level reporting, national assessment, etc.).
  • To assist the Regional Program Director in meetings and conferences or represent the Regional Program Director if required.
  • To manage the Regional Program Director appointments, travels and field visits. 
  • To translate and/or draft official correspondence.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position/assistant/communication officer in INGO
  • Experience in dealing with authorities at national level will be an asset
  • Experience in Disability issue will be an asset
  • Excellent written & oral English
  • High capacity to work autonomously
  • Ability to work with Photoshop is desirable
  • Knowledge on Joomla or other website content management systems will be an asset
Initial contract will be for a period 12 months.
