Our work
takes us to different corners of the world, including:
- Libya: Collecting information from citizen on local development, governance and safety.
- Indonesia: Supporting data-driven advocacy on pressing social issues by local civil society.
- Georgia: Monitoring security incidents in conflict-affected communities, using SMS and smartphone apps (see here and here);
- Mosavali: Improving food security by helping farmers produce more, better.
Our work is being recognised and supported by leading international
organisations including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). We
have presented our work at international forums, such as the OSCE
Security Days and the International Conference of Crisis Mappers. By

Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will work directly with the
Elva’s Country Director for Indonesia, performing the following tasks:
- Mapping and supporting networking opportunities, events, possible partners and customers (among NGOs, companies, and Universities), and fundraising opportunities;
- Assist networking occurrences, presentations, and general events;
- Craft content for social media channels and increase social media audience;
- Contact local and international press with our mission and vision;
- Maintain contact with start-up and social entrepreneurship environment through magazines, blogs, and events.
- Assist in project management and coordinate with project partners
Required skills and qualifications:
- Being a student/recent graduate in Humanitarian Action, Conflict Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Law or any discipline relevant to the above duties;
- Advanced working proficiency in written and spoken English and Indonesian;
- Passionate about the use of new technologies in humanitarian action, conflict management, and food regulation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience with Social Media (mainly Twitter and Facebook);
- Ability to work with teams from a distance and meet goals and deadline independently.
